You can't paint unless you study and practice. In studying painting, you are always taught image structure. Anyone can take pictures. Formal courses of photographic study rarely, if ever, cover the basics of image structure. The lack of structure is why so many photographs don't make it. regardless of how many fine details it might have. Details don't always matter if there's no story behind it.

It’s made me become more empathetic, and more aware of the many different realities people experience. The fact that a camera can freeze a moment in time and make it last forever is what makes photography special to me. Not only is it a way to travel back in time, but it also gives the viewer a chance to share some of the action and feelings of the moment a photographer witnessed and captured. That’s why I like street photography and candid portraits above all other photography categories; they’re not images, they’re snippets of someone else’s life that you get to experience yourself.
The ability to capture the world as you see it, sharing the things you care about and what excites you. This is what makes photography special to me. There’s something powerful about being able to share an image online and have it reminded somebody of a memory they have. For me, it is a huge creative outlet as a way to express myself and to learn more about composition and color. There is a lot more to photography than the push of a button. Amidst our pursuits of documenting the perfect moment, we take on new challenges every day. We face the uncertainties that come along with weather, lighting, and more. Now, this is actually a good thing! It keeps us excited, eager to learn, and on our toes!
