What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Having a goal in mind. How you see the image should look like. For example, rarely is a photograph finished upon capture, the post process must also be taken into consideration and the photographer needs to see this end result in their mind's eye.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Was there inspiration for the request for a photographer? This question is asked because often the client has an idea what they want their project to end up looking like. The photographer is not necessarily running with this expectation but definitely using this information to give the client what they want.

What type of photographic style are you looking for? This is a basic question that usually involves one of two answers. Photojournalistic or controlled.

Concerning residential images, who will be looking at this images? Family, friends, social media? How much time are we putting into these images and are we over doing something that may be better off casual versus managed and staged.

Commercial clients will be asked what the images will be used for and in what capacity. Do we need model releases and the like. There are often many more questions to ask when it comes to commercial clients.

What do you love most about your job?

Getting to work with people while having fun at the same time! Sounds cliché but it's true.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I suppose I cannot imagine working under another photographer. Unless you work for a firm, most of us work for ourselves.

Why should our clients choose you?

Easy to work with! I get the job done and attempt to capture and deliver what the clients wants, even if it's not necessarily my first choice. Sometimes you just need to give the client what they want! It's not always our job to be artistic at the expense of our clients' wishes.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes I can depending on the clients requirements as it will be a case by case basis.
