Newly opened soul food restaurant off of Church st right before Lake Busby Bridge. This building has been a cpl of different eating spots prior and sits at a precarious angle which can make it hard to get in and out. Best choice is to turn on to 4th ave and enter from that side. Great spot to stop on the way to and from the beach since it's right on the corner of Hwy 501 and 4th Ave, Conway. It was a full house when I went in and everybody was busy cooking, cleaning, greeting, serving, and otherwise making us all feel welcome. They serve cafeteria style so I got fried Flounder, mashed potatoes w gravy, corn, green beans, a roll, and peach cobbler. They also had fried shrimp, chicken wings, grits, cornbread, stewed tomatoes, baked beans and probably more that I don't even know about! The only thing I was disappointed in was the choice of vegetables. I wish more green vegetables and maybe a meat not fried. There were some empty containers and they may have sold out of some things before I got there. It was after 1:30pm and the parking lot was still completely full and more people trying to get in. This is also only the 3rd day open! The Flounder was very good and fried crisp on the outside and very flaky on the inside. Â It was just like going to a family reunion or a summer back yard celebration. Good ol southern cookn! The peach cobbler was just like grandmas, all I needed was some ice cream! Â The last draw back was the cost for quantity. For 1 starch, 1 meat, 2 veg, a roll and cobbler with a tea was just over $12. I say that more because of the portion sizes than anything. It sounds like a full plate of food but take away cobbler and it really was on the light side. I wish Ms Margaret's Soul Food great success!!Sweet tea report: On point!
