Sylvia and her crew were perfect! When I asked my soon to be three year old what kind of a birthday party she wanted her response was 'A puppet Party'. I was having a hard time finding a puppeteer who would make house calls when Sylvia's listing popped up. I was initially concerned that Sylvia was a clown who offered many additional services (besides puppetry), which made me a little wary. Ultimately however, my family, friends, twentyish toddlers, and I couldn't have been more satisfied, and I'm pretty sure my daughter had the best birthday of her life. Sylvia starts out blowing bubbles with a bubble gun while her crew is setting up facepainting supplies and the puppet stage. Then she does face painting, which is very impressive (we're talking very detailed quality artwork) and she takes the kid's specific requests pretty well. If your kid asks for spiderman they're going to get a nice looking spider man. After face painting she does parachute games, and is really good at getting the majority of toddlers to actually focus and participate. Then the puppet show is really funny, the puppets lip synch to recorded songs about safety, with the grand finale being, one of the puppets serenades the birthday girl with 'I believe I can fly' by R. Kelly. Sylvia also sings along with the puppets and let me tell you she can really belt out a note or two. She concludes her performance with balloon animals, and she brings ample balloons to replace popped animals, or so some kids can get multiples. I am really very impressed with her services, every thing she did was pretty exceptional. She was also very good at communication prior to the event and checking in the day of. I'm very happy with Sylvia.

Dear Presto, This e-mail to thank you for the wonderful magic show yesterday. Both the children and the adults were very impressed !!!
Especially the trick with the ring, the riddle tricks and the magic of the pigeons were really good !!!! The children enjoyed being able to participate. There was still a lot to talk about. A nephew of our Laurens came to ask me afterwards if I had gotten “my own ring” back. Have fun with your next shows and maybe see you later…… Kind regards, Kathleen

I offer elegant entertainment, either "walk-around" magic, mingling with your guests, or a "stand-up" magic show in front of your whole group. My performances combine subtle comedy and strong magic - geared toward adults rather than children. For other types of performances, I have a network of magicians and entertainers suited for many types of events. My brand of magic is great at breaking the ice among people at cocktail hours, corporate events, weddings, private parties or other similar events. I combine very strong magic with a healthy dose of humor. Despite being a polished entertainer, I never focus on my sleight of hand skill - the magic kind of happens around me, and I am just as surprised as everyone else. I am well educated, well traveled, multilingual, and can relate to many types of people. I have performed for cafes, golf courses, luxury hotels, corporations, and private parties in many countries in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. I also have a totally different show focusing on the power of the mind, i.e. superior memory, suggestion, reading body language cues, etc. (no magic tricks), appreciated by sophisticated audiences.
I began performing magic after the late Christian the Magician came to my school and changed his white gloves into fluttering doves in mid-air. My first performances relied on trial and error, but my family and friends have been supportive enough for me to pursue this hobby throughout my childhood and teens. The rest is history!
I combine subtle humor with strong magic, and treat all audience members with respect. I strive to leave audiences with a memorable experience, and have received great feedback! Many of my effects are original, and are not performed by other magicians - I offer a unique experience.
I distract people from their day to day problems, albeit for a short time, and give them something to look forward to. To be able to give adults a sense of wonder and joy is quite satisfying.
As I began performing more and more, I kept on getting more comments along the line of "you should quit your job and do this full time!", " do you do paid shows?", and "why haven't I seen you on America's Got Talent?" This encouraged me to seek out my first paid gig - a company holiday party. I was extremely nervous, I must admit, but I survived the ordeal (as did the company and its guests). I decided to try again, and I gained more confidence. Throughout the years, I also developed a network of trusted friends in magic who can always jump in to help if I am unavailable or if they have a different skill set. (For example, I rarely perform children's shows, but I can always find a suitable performer).
From learning to play a client's favorite show-tune on the recorder and creating a trick based on that theme, to researching a difficult illusion, recruiting an assistant, and performing it flawlessly at another client's event, I always offer what the customer needs, and a lot more!
