Another year, another birthday ~ but what to do?I was looking for something Different, something Unique, something FUN! Wine tasting is fun, but how to step it up a notch... LIMO TOUR!I chose Elegant Wine Tours of L.I. because they had the best price for what was offered, plus the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating.* If you do a tour before 3/31/10 you get $15 off p/p! Winter Special!Cabernet Sauvignon Package:   Parties of 8 or more, 7 Hour tour,  Visit 3 Wineries w/Sampling of 14-16 Wines ~ $95 [They have many different packages. Do not be fooled - these are just package names, you are NOT limited to one type of wine]All Inclusive for all packages:  - Luxury Limousine Transportation         - Lunch Supplied (Gourmet wrap platter, fruit platter, cheese & crackers)  - Snacks & Tableware                                      - Champagne for ride to wineries    - Full Beverage Bar (Liquor, Soda & Bottled Water)  - Stop on Return at  Famous Briarmere or Harbes Farms The three Vineyards we stopped at were:    Pindar : pindar.net    Duckwalk North : ww.duckwalknorth.com    Osprey's Dominion Vineyards : ospreysdominion.comAdditional Costs? - Pick Up from Queens is an additional $50 (as a group), Manhattan is $100 (all of Nassau and Suffolk is free). - Tip for Limo Driver (15% customary)------------------------------------------------------------------We were picked up on time from one location in Queens. Please be advised to have your cash (yes, cash only) available beforehand because we spent 20 min gather $. This cuts into your 7 hours. On the road! Our 14 passenger Excursion was incredibly roomy and very comfortable. The radio did not work though. Turns out the prior riders messed up some setting. Our driver was quick to get the owner on the phone to walk us through the set-up. Music was provided from a cell phone via streaming radio during this process. An hour later, we had the Radio up and running. Although an inconvenience that could have been avoided if the company had merely checked the radio before dispatching the Limo, it certainly gave us a lot of laughable memories.  1st Stop - Duckwalk      Duckwalk was incredible. The lady providing our samples was incredibly nice, she came out and took group photos for us- a lot of them! Each sample was at least 2 oz and if you asked, an extra one or two were provided ;) The dessert wines were everyones favorite, you cannot go wrong with any of them. 2nd Stop - Osprey's Dominion      Here we were pressured to buy bottles because they allowed us to eat there. I did not see the big deal, it was no favor as anyone else who wished to eat there could as well. The wine here was terrible compared to Duckwalk. The gentleman who provided us samples was arrogant and rude. The samples were at the MOST 1/3 an oz, if even. Interesting strawberry dessert wine though, very tangy.3rd Stop - Pindar      Pindar's wines were pretty good as well, it was our 2nd favorite. The samples were about 1-2oz. The lady was pretty rude though, kind of Nazi like. Drink it first then I'll do a 2nd round for everyone. I have to make sure we do this in order, etc. She knew we had 5 min left and conveniently disappeared. With 2 min left, some people hadn't even got to their 4th sample. But then again, everyone was quite buzzed by this time so all was well :)By this time, we had so much wine in the back of the Limo we could have opened up shop- but we weren't done yet!Last Stop! - Briarmere Farms      OMG! YUM! A bit pricey but so delicious! Just buy something, you'll love it!Our ride back was filled with laughter and smiles. Our day was long but well worth it. If you ever do a wine tasting tour, this would be the way to do it ~ in style! This tour comes highly recommended, and with it comes an unforgettable experience :)
