This has been a transformative year for me and Carla is a big part of the reason why. I visited her in January after struggling on and off with my weight for years; I felt helpless and hopeless. She was wonderful from the very beginning and our first meeting, in which we talked extensively about my problems and fears, was a welcome opportunity to share what I had been going through. The following three sessions proved to be just as engaging and I left feeling stronger and more in possession of my future each time. It’s now been 8 months since my last session. I’m halfway to my weight loss goals (having lost 70 lb since January) and I accomplished something I had stopped thinking was possible for me: running. A month ago, I ran 10k for the first time in my life and I’m now training for my first half-marathon. I’ve even discovered something about myself that I simply would not have believed a year ago: I really enjoy running.Although I came to Carla for help with my weight and eating habits, the process she took me through has given me the emotional distance to change a lot of things in my life and my outlook as a whole. I feel like I have an amazing sense of clarity about my life, my goals and my personality. Things aren’t necessarily easy—I’m still adjusting to my new lifestyle and it’s sometimes difficult to stick to my habits when I’m around friends—but I’ve lost the baggage that held me back for so long.
I am here to help you make intentional and sustainable change that actually feels good. My coaching focuses on what truly makes you feel your best and delves into releasing perfectionism, urgency, and “shoulds” so you can get to the core of what drains you and what nourishes you. Common themes that I help clients with are: -Increasing your self-care -Building confidence in yourself and who you are -Finding balance among your priorities -Changing limiting beliefs or habits -Cultivating a more robust support system -Creating healthy boundaries and relationships -Making more time for your true passions -Challenges in your professional life I would love to talk with you about what you are hoping to get out of coaching! I offer free 20-minute consultations and an initial 40-minute Breakthrough Session (my recommendation for the best place to start) for just $35.
I grew up as the oldest of 4 and always felt pulled toward the helping professions. I was a peacemaker among friends, wanted to be a psychologist, then a teacher, then a social changemaker.
I started my professional life in the non-profit sector connecting American Jews to the plight of refugees around the world.
As often is the case with adulthood, in a new city with a new job, newly married, and with a whole host of family, professional, and social demands, life became very busy and overwhelming.
I found myself constantly over-committed and nevertheless guilty about all of the priorities I wasn’t getting to. And where was the space for my own needs in all of this?
I was exhausted.
And I did not want to live that way anymore. I wanted to feel empowered to make choices that worked for me.
One step at a time, I climbed my way out of what felt like a pit of self-sacrifice and people-pleasing and started to take better care of myself. As I worked on these things in my own life with the support of self-help books, journaling, and my own coach and therapist, people in my life started telling me that they were craving the same freedom and intentionality I was creating. That my work was starting to affect their lives, too.
And so I started Coaching with Gabriella to provide support to people who want to make personal change in a way that is intentional and sustainable.
I became a CTA Certified Life Coach and have been coaching since 2016. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work.
Today, I live in Wayland, MA with my husband, Louis, and our son, Asher. I take special pleasure in connecting with compassionate, curious people and helping them figure out what steps they can take towards a lifestyle that works for them.
I’d love to help you with work/life balance, life transitions, self-care, creating boundaries and support systems, healthy relationships, and more so that you can create your intentional life.
One-on-one life coaching provides a rare jolt of empowerment, clarity, and support that may just be the nudge you need to move from feeling confused and overwhelmed to feeling motivated and ready for change.
It’s important that you find a coach whose style works for you.
Some of the elements that define my coaching style are:
I strike a balance between realism and idealism so that you are always keeping your vision at the forefront while making reasonable, tangible change.
I encourage you to focus on both mindset changes and taking action.
I ground our time together in your personal goals to make sure that you walk away with what you came for.
I provide frameworks and structure for you to work with but base the agenda of each session on your individual needs.
I leave you with next steps after our time together so you can continue on your own with confidence.
All of my coaching is offered over the phone (that's how I was trained)! I am open to doing video chat, as well, but find most clients focus better when we are on the phone.
