Eric Bailey of Catalyst Coaching and Sportlab knows what he is doing. If you have a goal and are willing to do the work, he is the coach that can help you put all of the pieces together. This includes the physical and mental aspects as well as dealing with hydration, nutrition and rest. I was an endurance athlete who came into the sport of running and triathlon later in life, completing my first marathon at age 45. This evolved into the dream of completing an ironman. I just wanted to cross the finish line of the Louisville race but knew making the bike cutoff would be a huge challenge for me. Eric was confident from the start that he could get me there. I worked with Eric for 10 months to prepare for my race. My daily workouts were challenging and helped me grow in all 3 disciplines but by the time I stood at the starting line I knew I was capable of finishing. There were times when I would question the reasoning behind some aspects of my training and Eric was always able to provide an answer that made me feel confident in his plan for me. My cycling speed and strength had improved immensely especially in the last 6-10 weeks. I was fortunate to start the race injury free and to not encounter any mechanical issues with my bike. I had my first DNF in the half distance earlier in the year due to high winds and I knew similar conditions would challenge both my speed and confidence on race day. Sure enough, it was a windy day. Eric had helped me develop strategies for the race that made me feel pretty confident going in but were hard to hang onto once the wind (and rain) started to have a significant impact on my speed. I did finish the bike and felt unbelievably good on my run. I finished with over an hour to spare. Although I was determined and did the work, the plan Eric prepared and constantly modified for me made me strong enough, fast enough and confident enough to be able to say "I am an ironman!"

I have been a psychotherapist and coach for over 30 years. I draw on my innate intuitive abilities as well as my traditional clinical training to bring guidance and transformation to my clients. My family systems background allows me to see the individual as a multifaceted system. I appreciate that what we often perceive as a “problem” reflects how we have adapted to the stress and trauma that we may have endured.

I coach compassionate people to see and realize possibilities for a more full life and a liberated world. My clients are committed to creating change and want to use their energy in a way that is more effective and sustainable--and that fulfills them rather than burning them out--so that we all can together create a world where everyone is free. I support clients to integrate all aspects of their lives--such as relationships, career, and spirituality--so that they can live as their full selves, who they really are, with clear priorities. Coaching sessions with me are a space where you can access your own wisdom and see clearly what you want out of life and how to achieve it. I also provide tools and teach practices that you can use every day to develop habits that are aligned with your values and the life you want to live. These tools, practices, and coaching sessions are also designed to support you to move past any internal stopping points you encounter on the way to reaching your goals. It is my joy to coach anyone who is committed to collective liberation. However, my ideal clients are women of color (like me). It is important to me to be in solidarity with other women of color. We are paid less, promoted less, and given less funding for our businesses. This world was not designed for us, and we have to carve out our place. We are doing this in spite of obstacles. I believe we can be most successful if we do it together.
Humans are complex, fascinating beings. I believe that each of us is a hero on our own journey to make this place better than when we arrived here. Life journeys are profound and beautiful. It is incredibly moving to see those journeys unfold and more than a privilege to be a support along the way.
Before I was a coach, I was an attorney (and still am) for mission-driven startups. I had incredible clients who seemed to have everything they needed in the external, material world to achieve the goals. But limiting beliefs, doubts, and fears were holding them back. I decided that to be effective in creating change, we needed to work not only on the external level (e.g., giving people the skills to ask for resources for their businesses) but the internal level (e.g., empowering people to look past their fears and actually ask).
If you are interested in collective liberation, I invite you to meet with me. My mission is to empower people to be their best selves--whether they think they can or not. I truly believe that if we come alive as the compassionate people we really are, and do what we really care about, we will change the world.
I have more than 100 hours of coach training. I continue to refine my skills by coaching volunteers with a mentor coach observing and providing feedback. I have completed all of the academic requirements of the Academy for Coaching Excellence coach training program. I am working toward my certification by the International Coach Federation.
I only do remote meetings now. Typically they are via Zoom, but I give phone as an option (other remote options are okay, too, if client proposes).
Clients never visit my location. We never share a space. We only meet remotely. This is typically through Zoom or phone. Client may propose a different remote means if they prefer that. I have never seen a client in person since COVID began. No other procedures or practices are necessary.
