Coaching is a key part of my work as Founder of The Story Shack LLC. I combine my training in life coaching with my decades of narrative research as an anthropologist and university professor. Positivity is central in my approach, and I partner with coaching clients to identify areas where they feel stuck but are motivated to make positive changes. We'll work together to build stories about your present and your aspirational future that are helpful to achieving your life goals, and we'll establish action steps to get there.

Unlike other career advisors I have worked with in the past, Life Working offers the emotional support that is needed when changing career paths. They were my biggest cheerleaders during the job hunt and negotiation stage. They are a wealth of knowledge and information - providing links, data, resources, etc. to help you stay informed on the quickly changing marketplace. I adored every conversation I had with them, and I would recommend  them to anyone who wants to successfully land their dream job.

I'm a manual therapist and life coach with a private practice specializing in people that are in pain or have had trauma. I work with people in person, online, and remotely. They know they have pain. They know they have experienced trauma. They know they have patterns and behaviors that aren't serving them anymore and they choose to be different. I support people in identifying where they are stuck. I help them reconnect with their potential. I empower them so that they can move forward and live with ease.
I love working with people that know, deep down, they can be different and they just don't quite know how yet. Generally, they have been to different health care providers, and perhaps found some relief, but they're not quite there. They may have even been told, "It's all in your head" or "This is as good as it's going to get." And they know that's not true.
It's awesome to see/hear that first deep breath that they haven't been able to take because they've been stuck in pain or stress for so long. It's amazing when someone reports to me that they didn't realize they did something, like laughing or playing with their child or reaching in the back seat, without even thinking about it, because they are finally feeling better.
I was inspired to start my own business because I did not know anyone that was doing what I was doing. I had this really unique background, training, and experiences when I began working as a massage therapist in a medical office. That work was fulfilling, but often left something lacking for the patients.
It was during a continuing medical education course, and working with a mentor, where I began to learn, and experience firsthand, the relationship between the body, trauma, stress, and many diagnoses. I could see how often people were divided up into parts or presenting symptoms, without seeing the overall whole person. I could see how often, treatment plans weren't solving anything, weren't empowering people, merely managing symptoms. I chose to be different. To learn more. To work with a whole person: body, mind and soul. And I choose to work with people that also choose to be different.
I see you in your unlimited potential, as whole and well. I interact with you body, mind, and soul. I have a unique understanding and training as to how physical injuries (car accidents, surgeries, even falling off your bike or slipping down the stairs) and trauma can be held in the body and have impact on the nervous system. I work with you to locate that and release it. I engage with you to see patterns that are no longer serving you, teach you how to recognize them, and create tools for you to use going forward.
