I recently contacted Handyman to contract renos on my bathroom and floor covering. Though the quote was very high ( turns out 50% higher) and Jamie in the office and the plumber( Ian P******) and the plumber (Danny D****) were all very pleasant in planning the project...we had a terrible experience. Ian did a great job and lived up to the contract though I would certainly deal privately with him in the future. They say Danny does good work...however I was never able to experience what he was capable of doing. He starts work at 10:30AM (for a crazy reason) and doesn't want to work after 3:30PM He just kept delaying starting. He got me to go to **** to buy over $500. worth of lumber etc which no one could ever figure out why he bought and I had to hire someone else to haul it back to ****. One day it snowed ..abit...in Kelowna!! and he couldn't come because the road was slippery. Then he and the office quit returning my calls . . He never even started the job and I had to hire others ...at 50% less. As a result we were not able to use our bathroom and the whole condo was in a terrible mess for 6 weeks. I would never do business with HC again. They advertise "final price...no surprises" Yet the day Danny came to my house to deliver all the material we didn't even need he tried to get me to sign a contract that he had written up for another $300. because he said he was going to have to nail up another piece of gyp rock. I finally agreed to sign but he still refused to start the job. So we agreed to part way
