Dean and Double D Dog Training are far and away the best money you can possibly spend for not only your dog’s training needs, but your own needs as well. My wife and I felt extremely discouraged with how our dog was behaving (or not behaving as the case was), even after we had invested the time and energy into other training classes. We knew that we were part of the problem with not providing the consistent training and follow up needed. Having Dean instruct and guide us and show us just how invaluable consistency and follow through are with training was the greatest reward we could have gotten. If you have any hesitation about individualized training, you can bet that they will be gone after utilizing Dean and his program. Absolutely amazing! After doing lots of research on different trainers in the coastal bend area we decided to call and setup a consultation. We knew it was necessary as our dog is a rescue and had a handful of issues like barking at strangers, jumping at the door when UPS arrived, and did not walk well on a leash. The consultation was great as it was done in our home so the trainer could see exactly how our dog acted with strangers. We decided to do the boot camp (varies in length based on the dog) and when he returned we were very impressed. The trainer took us through different exercises to do as well as ways to mold our dog to being calmer and letting us be in charge. We have already seen a big improvement in being much more calm and being a little better about strangers. We look forward to further improvements and have peace of mind knowing we can call or text any time we have questions.

Just finished my 6 week training course with Chris. My main concern was loose leash walking for my very energetic 2 1/2 year old black lab Abby. Chris concentrated on just this one task as she is quite well behaved and trained otherwise. We focused on heeling and training her to "leave it" when she sees squirrels, rabbits, people or any other distractions during our daily walks. Before the training she would pull me down the sidewalk and pretty much controlled the walk. After finishing classes Abby is doing much better at staying in a heel and I have learned to watch ahead for anything that might cause her to start lunging before it happens. I will continue to work with Abby daily and hope to do another session with Chris in the future for a refresher and more advanced training. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for training or obedience for their pet/family member!

I called Sit Means Sit after adopting Luke Skywalker from a rescue shelter, (named because the force is strong with this one). I was ready to send this beautiful Weimaraner back because I couldn't control him. He was pulling me across the yard with any distraction. Wes came out and within a 10 minute introduction, I was amazed. Luke was obeying his every command with no words. I hired Wes for 4 private lessons and unlimited group lessons and I couldn't be happier. Wes is amazing with not only the dog, but with teaching the owner how to train and deal with any situation. I had more challenges than most in that I have chickens and a closed gated yard that Luke needed to respect. Wes taught me how to handle him and Luke loved him. I am now confident that I can take this 75 lb boy anywhere and I will be in control. He brought out the best in this rescue dog and we are a pair for life.
