I train you to train your puppy or dog in your own home at your convenience. I can help you bring your pup from beginner or puppy training to advanced level. I graduated with honors from the Animal Behavior College as a Dog Trainer and I was previously certified by PetSmart and worked as a trainer there for more than two years. I am also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator if you would like to do that. I am also a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and am an IAABC-Associate Certified Canine Behavior Consultant and I can help you address your puppy/dog's behavioral issues, such as leash walking, jumping, chewing.
I have always wanted to be a dog trainer; I love dogs! I also love working with people and their dog to establish a level of communication that enables the dog to be an integral and loved part of the family.
After I retired, I realized I could not sit around all the time; very unhealthy. I realized that I now had the time and ability to train dogs, but believed that a dog trainer should actually be trained as such and not just "wing it". I therefore agreed to take on the role of dog trainer at PetSmart. They provided training and I then did all of the class training in the Ithaca store. I then decided that I needed more flexibility in my schedule and decided to get additional training and go out on my own. I signed up for the Dog Trainer program at the Animal Behavior College and graduated with honors. I later took the necessary classes to become an Associate Certified Canine Behavior Consultant. Establishing my own business was a great decision!
Because I am good at what I do and I enjoy it. I believe training should be fun for you and your puppy or dog. I welcome all family members, including children, because they can develop a bond with the dog through training.
