Doug is amazing. I highly recommend him to anyone whether they have a puppy, a rescue, an adult dog, or any type of situation. He helps you as the owner realize that your dog wants a strong leader, and in showing your dog that you are a strong leader, you can fix any issue. Doug is patient and kind, he stayed an extra TWO HOURS with us and our dog to help us as much as possible. He charges per session, not hour, so he did not have to do that at all, he did that out of kindness. If you want someone who will help you fix any behavioral issue or introduction or anything, I recommend Doug. He doesn't not use treats, or toys, only energy and body movements. He is kind to the animals and respects them. Highly highly recommend. We rescued our dog about two days ago, he was obviously jumpy and nervous, and had a bad habit of running through doors and not paying attention. After just one hour with Doug, here is a picture of him laying by the door that he refused to let anyone go through before him, and with consistency he is doing even better. Â Mind you, the side door was completely open and he was aware of that.

Scaredy Dog relies entirely on positive reinforcement and firmly believes punishment (as determined by the dog, not the owner) degrades the human-canine bond. Additionally, I hold the belief that punishing a scared dog only increases his fear. That’s why I train dogs in my care with lots of kindness, compassion, and good food.

Highly recommend Laura's services! There are very few pet sitters that take the time to pursue education regarding pet's fears and body language. Laura has gone above and beyond and achieved certification in one of the most prestigious organizations in the pet care industry; Karen Pryor Academy. She consistently shares helpful content on social media showcasing her expertise about pet care and is absolutely someone you should trust your pet with!

I’d like to give a shout-out to the grooming team, Vanessa and Sandra, for taking care of my extremely timid doxie BB. My consult with Vanessa was extremely thorough and I felt very comfortable knowing that Bieb’s stress level would be monitored closely when we decided to move forward with her groom that day. The owner, Jen, and Sandra kept me updated every step of the way during the grooming process and Biebs had an incredibly successful first groom! I sincerely appreciate that it was an experience specifically with MY dog’s needs in mind- not just churning her through as fast as possible. She got to chill with Jen in the office until Vanessa was ready for her and was given multiple breaks to relax and acclimate to everything! I’ll definitely be bringing her back in the future!
