I only do in-home private lessons. I have taught group classes but find that I do not have enough time to properly instruct everyone and spend time with each parent. I teach basic obedience for all ages. I teach behaviors such as sit, down, stay, leave it, take it, no jumping on guests, loose leash walking and heel. I can design a custom program to meet your needs. I have packages from 2 to 5 sessions.
I love dogs. I love to see the difference dog training makes in the lives of these dogs as well as their parents. My goal is to engage everyone in the family and teach them how to train their dog.
We adopted a dog for my Mom. Cleo had so many behavior issues I knew if we returned her to the shelter she would be euthanized. I decided to become a dog trainer. I signed up with Animal Behavior College and completed written assignments as well as a 6-week mentor program and 10 volunteer hours at an animal shelter. I also work in dog and cat rescue and it is very satisfying to see these animals go to their forever home.
Most dogs end up in the shelter because of behavior issues. I keep my prices low so that the training is affordable for most families. I take pride in my work so also I sell sessions based on 1 hour, I often times stay a bit longer to ensure all questions are answered.
The most important thing in dog training is for everyone to have fun!
I am fully vaccinated and get boosters as they are released so I don't routinely wear masks. However, if a client requests it, I am happy to wear them. If I know or believe I've been exposed to Covid I always text my students to see if they would like to postpone.
