Some therapists simply validate the client’s experience or manage the “problem of the week,” leading clients to feel stuck or dependent on the therapist to “mediate” the most recent relationship conflict. I do it differently. Whether working with a couple or an individual, I approach your therapy from a relational lens, exploring how your family, culture, identity, and other factors.

I offer psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, partners, and families, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups. My goal is to provide healing guidance, with just the right balance of compassion and accountability each client and family needs. I offer integrative, systemic, and trauma-informed therapy practices, working with couples, partners, families, and individuals to help achieve greater satisfaction with relationships and with life in general. I understand many of the challenges clients face come from past injuries. By creating healing experiences in the present, we can re-write the old scripts, creating a more enjoyable experience now and in the future. I look forward to working with you to achieve your desired goals! The primary model I employ for couples, partners, and families is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This model helps get to the bottom of underlying issues which create friction in relationships, so that conflicts can be addressed at their source, rather than going around and around in endless, unresolved cycles. For individual clients, I customize an integrated approach aligned with my client's needs and goals. I start by creating safety and a solid working relationship, then teach skills to calm and balance the nervous system. From there, we work on strengthening personal boundaries. Finally, if desired, we can resolve old wounds. I draw on perspectives and techniques from Attachment Theory, Trauma Dynamics (TD), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I look forward to working with you on your journey! Feel free to contact me at (720) •••-•••• to set up a complimentary initial consultation.
The best way I can think of to describe the rewards of my work is the word "blooming". When people have the blocks to their health and happiness removed, their innate nature gets a chance to flourish, and it is a beautiful thing to witness. Definitely, there are often ugly parts to the work (such as learning the details of how people have been abused in the past), but however sad that might be, it is also a part of life. It all becomes worth it when the healing takes root and blossoms.
I was helped by counseling myself, both individually and in my relationships. This inspired me to pursue a career in the field, and I am now living and growing my dream job!
I am a trauma specialist and relationship healer. I work with couples, partners, families, and individuals. I primarily utilize the principles of Emotionally-Focused Therapy when working with couples, partners, and families, and the Trauma Dynamics model (a somatically-based therapy) for trauma resolution with individuals. My work is trauma-informed, attachment-based and systems-oriented. That means I do not think of suffering people as being broken, but rather as being injured and in need of healing guidance and support. I help relationships by getting to the bottom of the repeated cycles of conflict that can occur, so people can get along again and support one another.
