I had always wanted to start my own business. My father and I would talk about it all the time. When my husband and I got married. We wanted a nice but small wedding and no one wanted to accommodate us because we weren't spending $25,000 on a 25 people wedding. I decided I wanted to help others plan and have an amazing wedding on any budget. Then I saw the same thing with other events. My dad came from a family of caters. At 18, I went into culinary, nutrition and hospitality in college. My dad had high blood pressure and nephrotic syndrome (kidney issues) My grandmother had diabetes at the time. They complained about the food. How it had no flavor and taste nasty. That was their excuse as to why they didn't want to eat right. I would cook them healthy flavorful meals so they could stay on track. That when it hit my dad and I to do something. That we could do something together. Two years ago my dad got really sick and was in the hospital. He was trying to get a kidney and he was in treatment to weaken his immune system to receive a kidney. On my birthday my husband and I were out of town. When I got a call from my mom saying that he had coded and he was incubated. I was devastated, I tried to pull myself together and somehow I figured I was going to start our business to help motive him to get better. My father never made it out of the hospital. I started the business in June 8, 2018 and he passed in July 19, 2018. This business was our dream together and I am now living it for the both of us. I know he is proud.
