Honestly, before coming to this clinic I was a hot mess. Dr. V and Dr. S totally turned my world around. I’ve been at the clinic for over a year now and it has made such a positive impact on my life. It’s not always easy and there is some tough love along the way but it’s worth it. Dr. V & Dr. S ‘s empathy and compassion really help guide me and bring me to a better quality of life. Don’t know what I’d do without them. I started at a different clinic and they didn’t care about the patients. I went three months without even meeting my counselor. Here they will be with you every step of the way.
Awarism is a non-profit created to help the community by giving people a solid foundation to live their life on. So many of us wander aimlessly, convinced to follow the dreams of others. We force ourselves to fit into a particular mold that someone else has assigned us. Whether it be our parents or even our peers. We tend to seek happiness from outside. As if it's something to be gained or earned. We believe happiness is something we can Achieve some day. But that is not true. Happiness is not an Achievement. It's a state of being. And we decide when we want to be in that state. The choice is ours, yet it doesn't seem that way. Satisfaction can seem so far out of our reach. Let us change that for you. Try our perspective. You deserve to be happy. And it's not going to come from pills, exercise, working harder or just having a positive attitude. Real happiness comes from a solid foundation and understanding of what you truly want out of life. Only then, can you find comfort in your existence. You don't have to possess what you want to be happy. But you absolutely have to know what it is, before you can start experiencing it. Let us help you find it. We address several different avenues towards well being. In the past we've helped people with: Depression, Anxiety, Aggression, Confidence, Relationships, Spiritual Development and overall Life Counseling. We would love to hear from you.
Please check out our "Meet Neil" video for a more in dept answer. But, what I love the most about helping people, is the ability to give back and see the change it makes in the lives of others. I had my struggles, and someone was there for me. Being able to pay that forward everyday, is a level of job satisfaction I didn't even know existed before.
To be honest. Loneliness.
The dread I used to feel at a time in my life where everything seemed hopeless. It felt like nobody would ever understand and the people around me were trying to be supportive, but they just couldn't relate. It really felt like I was the only person in the world dealing with my issues. Just meeting a couple different people, who gave me some perspective, spun me in a better direction. Having access to talk to just a few people made the biggest difference in the world to me. Without that, I'd still be a slave to my ego. Constantly beating myself up, and carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. Those people were there for me and helped me up. Now I feel duty and pleasure in helping others build a better foundation for their life.
There are a ton of great people out there to talk to. I've met my share. I don't want to say anything negative about traditional Therapist. They are needed and provide an invaluable service.
However, what I offer is a unique experience therapist are not going to have. I've dealt with homelessness and deep depression. I've been at the bottom and my perspective of it is very different from those who haven't been.
There are a lot of great people out there who mean well. But their ability to actually understand the hard decisions you've made that lead you to where you are now, might not be something they can fully grasp.
Anything you feel you need to say, you can say to me with zero fear of judgement, because I've most likely went through it too, or have heard it before. I know what it's like to live in survival mode. Especially when you don't seem to fit in anywhere.
I talked to a lot of different people when I was trying to rebuild my life.
But it wasn't until I spoke with people who had been where I was, that I was able to witness how they escaped the turmoil. I just really needed someone to understand me.
And I believe I can understand you.
