I flew from another state to see Jill in person. I am a daughter of a disrespectful (?narcissistic) mother. In finding Kathryn McBride's website during a horrific family crisis (something that always brings out the worst in a dysfunctional family), I found Jill's link. However, she explained her policy is to not do phone counseling unless first meeting with the client in person. In brief phone interview, I realized her expertise in this area was more than anything I had found locally, and i was desperate. (I have been in and out of counseling for years that was helpful, but not as specific). She agreed to meet me at her home office for 2 days in longer sessions, so I flew to Denver, and stayed at a nice Airb&b near her house. What I learned about myself, my family, and my coping skills in those 2 days were totally worth the trip and the time with her. I felt her cost was very fair in my paying out of pocket. She has continued some counseling by phone since then at a fair cost, and the insight she adds to each new situation or crisis is invaluable to me. She was also willing to help me with the transportation from the nearby train station (which links to Denver airport). I can't speak for everyone, but for me, seeing Jill was one of the best choices I've made for myself in my life. Thank you Jill!
