Redrock Canyon Grill's approachable environment is the right balance between easygoing and focused. Â Located on Lake Hefner's eastern shore, RCG offers a front row seat to vibrant Oklahoma sunsets painting the sky with cotton candy, tangerine, corral, and lemon. Â The view predisposes diners to enjoy their dining experience. Â Starters: If it's a warm day, share the Calamari--deep-fried squid drizzled with garlic aioli and dipped in a roasted tomato salsa. Â The condiments keep the dish light despite being fried. Â If it's a cooler day, start with the "Iron skillet" cornbread. Â Hearty cornmeal spiced with a hint of jalapeno; 4 pieces served in a miniature iron skillet. Â Perhaps you want a salad. Â The house salad is great and uses the aforementioned cornbread to make crouton crumbles. Â If no one's said it yet... Welcome to Oklahoma.Entrees: Many of the entrees are too good to select just one. Â RCG recognizes this and offers combination plates comprised of their most popular entrees: Â Wood-fired Rotisserie Chicken, BBQ Pork Ribs, Beef steaks, and Chicken Enchiladas. Â They're popular for good reason, and you will be pleased with any combo. Â These entrees are so sizeable that I prefer sharing a combo plate, especially because starters are too good to forego. Â Sharing is caring. Â Most entrees come with mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, or both. Â As one who does not typically enjoy cooked carrots, I can assure that RCG's are delicious. Â If, after all that, you still have room for more, consider a dessert and/or a career in competitive eating. Â The key lime pie and banana pudding are favored, but I've always been too full to try them so [shrug]. Â Long story short, Redrock Canyon Grill creates a welcoming atmosphere and serves outstanding comfort food.
