My brother lives in a house on this block and I've stopped by here when I'm at his place. They are only open from 11-6 on Monday through Friday, but it isn't a bad place to stop in for lunch if you work nearby. Even if you work in the government buildings on the North side of Downtown St. Paul, you could make it in for lunch. It's probably an 8 minute drive from University and Lafayette. However, they do a lot of deliveries. I've never had them delivered, so I can't comment on the service. They make all kinds of deli type sandwiches, but their specialty is BBQ sandwiches. They barbecue really good ribs and a pulled pork sandwich, among other things. Their sandwiches are going to run you about $6 a piece. You can also buy uncooked and seasoned BBQ to bring home and cook yourself. I've brought home a rack of ribs before and they are awesome. I don't think that they are as good as Big Daddy's, but still highly recommended. Much better hours than Big Daddy's as well. It's mainly a take out place. Â I think they have 2-3 tables inside and 3 tables outside, weather permitting.

Food is good but getting tired of waiting for stuff every time I go. Went yesterday ordered oxtail & cabbage....gonna ask me do I want more rice because it will be about 10 minutes for the cabbage. I said I'll wait..why get more rice if I ordered the oxtail combo. Then the young lady brings the food to the car and says it will be about 15 more minutes for my chicken patties. Well did you not know that when I ordered. Again I said I would wait...end up waiting 45 minutes....and mind you there was NO line. They did refund me back $10.
I drove all the way to St. Paul from IGH just to go to the truck and got there early around 2 and still gotta wait on food when the truck opens at 1. Don't get me wrong I love them and will always support them but something has got to change. If there is not a line of people there is no reason a customer should be waiting that long.

Hey, it's not Hennepin Ave, but the food is good, the prices reasonable and the service terrific. Gig's is working hard trying to bring it back after the previous owners performed so poorly and let so many folks down. Go - expecting a nice neighborhood bar that serves decent food and that's what you'll find. The Michaelbob's ribs are every good, as is the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Also enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi. For a real sugar high, try the "Skillet Cookie". A fresh chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet and topped with ice cream and chocolate. One will serve four - extremely rich!Lots of TVs, buses to the Twins, Vikes, Saints and others. It's not fancy, but we found it to our liking.

Just had some tea and appetizers here with my mom tonight. We had the cajun wings (great flavor), fries (super hot- which is good), fried shrimp and squid rings. I had the green tea milk tea with bubbles and she had the coconut. The wings and fries were great. The shrimp was tasty, but you don't get a lot and the squid rings I would pass. It looks like the real thing to do here is get a seafood boil- bib and all. Will definitely try that next time! Cute decor, very clean and very friendly staff!

Potbelly is great. Great food, great malts, great atmosphere - it's one of our family favorites. That is why when I have a less than favorable experience there, I take into consideration that it's normally not like that. Supposedly, Thursday nights at this location, is kid's night. They have big posters on their windows, visible from Main Street, that boasts balloons, live music, face painting and free food for the kids. So we went. When we walked in, there was no live music. There was no face painting happening. And the only balloon we could see was a pink one tied to the basket where they have their cookies for sale, on the counter. As much as we love Potbelly, this false advertising was a complete turnoff from the get go, and we turned around and went somewhere else. We love the sandwiches, no doubt about it, but when we go for an experience like "kid's night", that's what I expect to get.

John's Pizza Cafe is the best pizza, pasta, sandwiches in town! We've been coming here for years and it's literally the best.

In particular their John's regular crust pizza is the stand out here - it's absolutely scrumptious. We had someone from Minneapolis over for dinner months ago and we got John's Pizza - they are still raving about it and talking about how they want it next time they come over!

But everything they make is on point. Their huge well made calzones are a go-to when my partner wants their pasta instead of pizza. They make a really good Dill dip, and lately I've been hooked on their Chicadilly sandwich. (Their house made chips are delicious, fries are equally good)

Service is great that I've encountered, although we almost always order delivery online through their website. Delivery is always lightening quick and drivers are friendly.

Order here, it'll be a new favorite!
