Fresh. Local. Seasonal. Great food matters to us! We are not the standard caterer. Personal chef meets flexible delivery of event styles. Please read through our FAQs to ensure we’re a fit for your inquiry. We are focused on delivering thoughtfully curated events focused on unique menus. Each menu is designed specific to the client, the event and the season. Our cocktail party menus begin at $28 per person, and dinners start at $36 per person. We travel. We currently operate in the Mid-Atlantic and the entire West Coast, though we happily travel just about anywhere for the right client or a great event!

What’s your signature dish?

Signature? Cauliflower gratin. We received a letter, about seven years ago, from the mother of a client. She shared her struggles getting her child {the client} to eat vegetables in her youth, and wanted recipe for our cauliflower gratin because her daughter couldn’t stop talking about it. Her daughter, the client, was 42 at the time. :)

Best seller in the winter? Slow cooked beef short ribs with gnocchi and winter greens.

Top summer fav? Our house-made ice cream sandwiches!

Our favorite to serve? All. Of. It!

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

We ask questions and then we listen. There is no standard 12 page menu that we send. Your menu is custom to your desires, taste and event style. We want to know what you love to eat, then build on that. Our catering is an experience.

What do you love most about your job?

The FOOD! And, working with people who truly love food. Also, growing great food; we love our garden. Seeing the sheer joy on a client’s face when they see the food come off the proposal and into real life on the day of their event!

What inspired you to start your own business?

Becoming a mom. I’d spent 10 years in the corporate world when I realized that being a mom, first, to my then 5 year old who was in kindergarten, was my most important role. There was a boss with an issue with cupcakes as the catalyst, but that day changed everything. Four months later I started my first business. That kid is now 27, and I’ve been creating memories with my kids, and for my clients, ever since.

Why should our clients choose you?

Let us tell why you shouldn’t.

1. You have a deep and unwavering passion for chafing dishes. We do not share that passion, and use exactly zero. There are so many ways to keep food warm, or maintain the integrity of a dish during your event. We’re innovative, and care about the integrity of our food once it’s presented. Stations are fun, make for great delivery, and keep your event moving! For a more personal touch, we really enjoy table service. Gone are the days of the ‘pick beef or chicken’ RSVP cards; table service provides the opportunity for your guests to enjoy the entire meal you’ve selected, while remaining engaged in conversation & each other. Cocktail Hour? We’re big fans of a gorgeous grazing table {charcuterie} and passed hors d’ouevres.

2. You don’t love food. We LOVE food. I mean, we eat, sleep and drink new menu ideas. Food, moreover, feeding people, is our love language. It’s personal.

3. We sincerely appreciate that every dollar is valuable, so hear us when we say, we are not a budget caterer. This is our life’s work. You’re paying for experience, quality and execution. Food costs are high right now. Really, really high. We buy everything fresh; there is no Sysco truck delivering to our kitchen or frozen cases being unpacked. Fresh, local, seasonal is not just a tag line; it’s who we are. We’re proud to support other small, family owned businesses in the regions we serve, who are equally passionate about their work. And, we take very good care of those who work for us, so that they may live their best lives as well.

Service is in our DNA; we are proud members of Chefs for America, and serve with World Central Kitchen when disaster strikes around the country. We’ve rolled our kitchen to tornado sites, the aftermath of many a hurricane, and more blizzards than we can count. We’ve also served more than 50,000 meals to communities & families in need since COVID started.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

We work all over the country, so we do a lot remotely! We love a good phone call {old school, right?} and we can even FaceTime for walk throughs and meetings!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Our staff have every shot they’ll let us get, wear masks and gloves every time we’re working with food outside our kitchen, and we work to ensure our team is healthy, happy and have what they need to feel whole. That matters, because when we’re on, we’re at full speed working to create magic for you and your guests! We have always done a lot of small foods, and individual items, which has become a favorite during these tricky times. More one touch items, less exposure.
