After 4 days of passing this sign on our way around town I decided yes I really did need pie! So glad that I did because their pies are amazing!!! And I bake a lot. These pies are legit. shared a slice of French silk and a slice of strawberry rhubarb and both were so much better than we were expecting, if that makes sense. Like, they looked like they tasted pretty good but they actually tasted even better. They were perfect! Wish I’d bought whole pies!

Was not sure what to expect from a pub & grill. We walked in and the girl sitting in one of the booths doing side work looked less than excited to be there. She brought us our water and as we said hello, heard “crickets “. No smile, no reply, nothing. She sat back down and we weren’t sure who our server was. Then this friendly face came along and her name was “Z”. She was an international student here working 3 jobs. She apparently wasn’t supposed to take our order but since the girl who was wasn’t interested, we requested her. Then the girl wanted “Z” to transfer the table back over to her. Poor “Z” was caught in the middle until we spoke to Pat and explained to him that we didn’t want the unfriendly waitress. He was very understanding and professional about it.
I told “Z” it’s the other girls loss as we’re great tippers. I served when I was 15 and understand what it’s about. Not liking your customers is going to earn you nothing. “Z” made “$20” and she earned it. She was friendly, talkative, and a hard worker. She definitely knows more than that other girl who seemed entitled. She should find a job washing dishes in the back away from customers where first impressions are everything. The food was really good and we’d dine again but hopefully not see that waitress again.
