Let me start by saying how excited I am to see this place open up close to Davis. For years we have been traveling far to get to a decent Brazilian restaurant and this place was far better than anything I expected. The ambience is obviously new, modern with an open kitchen layout. The salad bar was very impressive. Everything was tastefully prepared, authentic, and extremely delicious. As far as the service goes, I saw some familiar faces I had seen at another place, again great attention has been placed to make this a perfect establishment. The meats were very juicy, flavorful and clearly prepared with care. The weekend lunch is truly a value. You won't find anything like this anywhere unless you drive all the way out to Palo Alto.

I debated whether to give this review and give away this place but due to the one way street it's located on, I feel like people truly do miss what this place is all about. It is a really authentic and delicious dining, deli counter and catering business on a busy one way street. It's dining hours and location are a bit short, only open till 5.  I'm rarely ever available before then on weekdays and seem to be elsewhere on weekends, ie, not nearby. When I was nearby, I stopped in each week and bought their awesome bread. I feel their business would blossom big time if they had a new location away from the traffic and some unfortunate local issues (panhandlers....)  that occur nearby.  Still, I highly recommend a visit and go inside to explore if you are near!Five Stars is for the smiling and pleasant service, the incredibly tasty crusty bread that can be purchased separately at the counter, and the kindness to sell me butter one time when I took their awesome bread and butter to a potluck. OF COURSE I hear that ALL sandwiches are plenty delicious. The cold case as you walk up is a display of ready to go Italian specialties that are top of the line tasty. I used to make a trip in specially for the freshest, crustiest bread, which was baked to perfection, not too much, not too light. You have to try some!Again, the place is such a sweet place in kind of a disheveled strip mall, don't be put off -  food and service is top notch!  Haven't enjoyed dinner here, ie, full on traditional Italian entrees complete with Italian wines and Italian specialty desserts tempt me when I am buying my bread, but somehow I can never arrive for the dinners!Sampino's is on my bucket list for sure! In the meantime, when I am in the area, I enjoy this super high quality bread, amazing cold cuts, and a cold drink, and the sweet staff!Important -  I re-checked the biz hrs - they are OPEN FRIDAYS to 9:00!  :  )  So now I have no excuse whatsoever not to come for a pasta, a vino, a cannoli, topped off with a fine Italian roast after dinner coffee and hear the PIANO     : )

Jenni prepared a delightful menu for a wedding shower which I was hosting. Everyone loved the food. Her tiered cheesecake was outstanding. Thanks Jenni for making my party such a success!

New Food Truck to try out!  The two smoke stacks on the top of the truck filled the streets with BBQ aroma and tantalized hungry eaters.  Pollo Inferno specializes in Peruvian style marinated chicken over a wood charcoal grill.  They also serve beef and shrimp.I ordered their main specialty - Chicken Lomo (stir fry bowl).  It had stir fried marinated chicken with green onions & cherry, over a bed of fries, lightly fried white rice, and gourmet salad.  Make sure to order a soda, goes well with the BBQ.I was impressed by the number of staff in the truck, usually there are only two people and receiving my meal would take longer - but not Pollo Inferno.  I received my dish within 5 minutes after ordering from the friendly cashier.The French fries were thick with a soft crunch and the fresh off the grill warm sliced chicken was tender and I tasted the Wood BBQ with Every single Bite.  I did not expect them to make a home run!  I will be back when I see them next in any food truck lineup!

Really great place to unwhined with great beer and food. The staff and owners are friendly and make you feel at home. Came in for dinner and left with a new family.
