Our family came to Sonoma for a long weekend and worked with Goodness Gracious! to plan and execute a surprise dinner for my parents! Lauren was extremely communicative, catered to our dietary restrictions and needs, and put together a fantastic and super delicious meal at the residence we stayed at in Sonoma! My favorite part: she structured the menu around the seasonality of the food and ensured that we had the freshest and most local selections by going to the farmer's market the same day that she came to cook for us! Our family had an awesome time with Lauren and she definitely set the stage for us to have great memories from the trip. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a private chef!

Chef Ed exceeded my expectations with his deep formal training of classic Japanese sushi making that was evident in every little move he made teaching our class. Even regular folk like myself can easily understand how to properly create sushi the way he breaks it down and makes it fun. He offers helpful tips and then demonstrates how to achieve a handful of sushi as interesting and artful as it was delicious. This was a very compelling, artful way to spend two hours in the wine country. It was lovely to try something new from a true professional that did an excellent job catering to our group. Thanks Chef Ed!

I started this business just over ten years ago with the aspiration to offer upscale fine dining to clients and be able to engage with them directly to provide the best service possible. When someone is willing to spend their hard earned money on a product and the service to go along with it, it's important to pay attention to every detail. I strive only for perfection and I would expect the same if I were hiring a company to provide me with a service. Please peruse my photos and profile to see if I'm a good fit for your next event. I look forward to working with you!
This is a difficult question as I have many signature dishes and don't consider any of them my favorite. As an example though, here is a dish that I really like. Crispy Taiwanese scallion cakes with baba ghanoush, Turkish spiced beef, pomegranate molasses, pomegranate seeds, pine nuts, lime, cilantro and sumac.
I like to get as many details from my clients as possible so that they know the menu has been tailored just for them. I ask about likes, dislikes, food allergies, styles and themes and I go from there. It doesn't take me long afterwards to design a menu or multiple menus fitting to the request.
What I love about this job is getting to entertain people on a much more intimate level. After working in restaurants for 16 years, I realized that there is only so much that can be done for each patron on a busy night. I have my eyes on every detail and much more control to make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone is happy.
I knew at a very young age that I wanted to own my own cooking business. When this opportunity fell on my lap, I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my career.
I'm a great choice to hire because I'm involved in every aspect of the production. I don't carry an attitude, I'm very easy to work with and flexible on options. My ideas are progressive and creative and I spent 16 years in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country. I didn't just work at these places, I treated them as if I owned them and my philosophy on work ethic has brought me to you as an independent personal chef.
I follow all Covid protocols and have been tested a number of times so that my clientelle feels safe working with me. I'm happy to wear a mask if need be.
