This is one of the most iconic restaurants in Palos Verdes - The Red Onion; the Admiral Risty (R.I.P.) & the Appetizer - and one my family has been going to since it opened in 1972. Anello has done an amazing job continuing the legacy his father built - R.I.P. Alfonso Artiano (b. 09/13/1941 d. 05/27/2019). The good news is that the Appetizer did not close - but merely moved to a more accessible location. Of course I was skeptical - would the atmosphere and cuisine be as phenomenal as it always has been? The answer - is an unqualified "YES" - They even have the original "cooler" from the original location! Of course I will miss the mural of Old Italia on the wall, Anello has done a fine job of moving forward with the times, but also paying homage to the history of this iconic and memorable restaurant. If you thought the Appetizer closed, you're in luck - and if you're concerned about the menu ... you need not be! Thank you Anello and the Appetizer Family for continuing the tradition - and honoring so many fine memories of our past!
