i go to school up north, and when i come home to visit, all i want to do is eat good food and sleep in my own bed. top thai makes the short list of restaurants i want to eat at to remember what good thai food tastes like.nestled in a weird part of the valley, i never really venture north of sherman way for food unless i have a specific reccomendation to do so. top thai is located amongst many vietnamese restaurants(and next door to a foster's freeze if soft serve is your thing), the huge selection of dining spots has always dissuaded me from randomly trying any restaurant. we found top thai after reading a review in the paper about it and were not disappointed. a restaurant that's never busy when i dine in, i'm ALWAYS worried that they're going to shut down because of a lack of customers. still, i haven't found a better thai place in the valley, which is saying a lot(also, they've been open for at least 2 years so they must be doing something right).the rice is AMAZING, sticky but very flavorful and light. i'm a vegan and my mom is not, and this is both our favorite thai restaurants. she usually orders the thai bbq chicken or the curry, which i assume is great since it's all she orders. if i don't order a rice dish, they have great noodle dishes and a large selection of tofu. the sweet and sour is divine.please visit this restaurant, my favorite chinese place shut down unexpectedly and i was surprisingly pretty devastated; if top thai closes i don't know what i'll do.the one bad thing about this restaurant is that they're CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS. i've gone to the restaurant many a time only to be reminded by the CLOSED sign on the front door what day of the week it is. c'est la vie.
