Went to the Doheny Blues festival this past weekend, and the food was typical festival food, EXCEPT for Urban Pie. The pizzas they made were so good, we purchased from them on both days. They make the dough right on the spot using Italian flour, and they cook the pizza in a portable oven on a trailer and the pie is one of the best we have had, not just for mobile, but for restaurants. The people are friendly and Dominick is a nice and will help you with any questions about your pie. If you are having a gathering, party, or event, these are the folks to call. Unfortunately for us, they do not have a restaurant...just mobile

My daughter attends Whittier down the street, she brought me here for brunch. The pancakes were the size of the plate the bacon is crispy not greasy, and my eggs were exactly as I ordered them. The servers were professional yet very personable and friendly, the host went out of his way to serve me coffee during our 20 minute wait. The pastries look delightful and the ambience is cozy and friendly. I Plan on coming back as many times as possible while my daughter is in the vicinity. Thank you for a delicious meal.

The Chicken Koop catered my Mom's 70th bday party this past weekend. I can't stress how delicious and savory their chicken, Mac n cheese, and Tinga Empanadas were. Our family and friends raved how great everything was. This place has mastered poultry cuisine. Thank you Regina for having everything ready and taking the time to make it an ultimate experience. Thank you Chicken Koop for letting us enjoy our time with Mom instead of cooking.

Ive been here about 10 times and try a different sandwich every time. I love their unique take on the Mexican torta. Every sandwich has an entirely different flavor and they are all great. They have various combinations and are more like a gourmet sandwich than a torta. Take the bread from a torta and add different meats and sauces and you've got Cooks. Don't expect a slice of ham and goat cheese, for those drive 2 miles down the road to East Los Angeles. I always wash it down with one of their unique drinks. Their watermelon drink was sooo refreshing and reminded me of the one my mom used to drum up as a kid. For sides I always order the sweet potato fries although lately my sweetooth has swayed me towards the yogurt covered fruit. Yum. Their cookies are also great. Ive bought them numerous times for the offices I do business with and they loved them. They look burnt but acutally are not. They pack a ton of flavor. I have brought many friends and coworkers here and this place does not dissapoint. One of the best in the LA basin!!!
