This place is amazing, service here is simply the best.... We were already happy with the service before we even got here... Lady at ther front was great throughout our entire stay... She even called us before we left home to let us know of a closed road and gave us an alternate route.. Great place...

Chef Allan is awesome! Â He did an amazing job with my dinner party for 15 people in Big Bear Lake. Â He and his wife went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic experience. Â He was on time, courteous, and fun to be around. Â He customized the menu to our needs by making special requested items. Â He even produced a printed copy of our menu to take home as a souvenir. Â The food was all great. Â I'd particularly recommend the BBQ Beef Ribs, BBQ Beans, and Garlic Bread. Â Chef Allan is truly one of the best. Â Highly recommend.

Interesting and exceptionally good value modern Italian food comes to Big Bear LakeDriving up into the San Bernadino Mountains in SoCal is a bit like being in a time machine - every few thousand feet sends you back a decade or so. Pulling into Big Bear Lake, you can almost imagine the Brady Bunch piling out of the family wagon and into one of the woodsy cabins touting both color TV and A/C. However, once the nostalgia wears off and a day on the water has stimulated the appetite, the 70's aren't quite so appealing - the predominant dining style being 10,000 calorie breakfasts and modest steakhouses with a predilection for home fries.Or at least that was the case until the recent opening of Sweet Basil Bistro. Not wanting to return home with a Body Mass Index over 30, we decided to give this unpretentious restaurant housed in the corner of the local bowling alley a try.The simple tinted stucco room was packed on a summer weeknight, but after scoring the last booth and choosing from the modest but remarkably inexpensive wine list, we were surprised by a series of excellent dishes: appetizers of artichoke hearts with bacon and wild mushrooms with phyllo & Parmesan had real flavor, while entrees of home-made pasta with Gorgonzola sauce and meatballs or ricotta stuffed ravioli in a cream sauce were light and delicious with the accompanying grilled greens. An excellent molten chocolate cake and a good selection of liquors ended an unexpectedly high quality meal at a remarkably reasonable price. In fact, we were so impressed that we ate there several additional times, enjoying the namesake sweet basil & tomato soup as well as excellent steaks and panini, and chatting with the chef ownerAll in all, a highly recommended destination in Big Bear (with the added benefit of supporting a local owner)

We contacted Tea regarding setting up catering for a group of 21 people who were renting a cabin in Big Bear for the weekend. Getting quotes and developing a menu with Tea was a breeze. Her communication was swift and clear. The prices she quoted us were great and we booked her for our weekend. The whole experience could not have been better. The food was delicious and the quantity was more than enough for our whole group of hungry young people. We finished off leftovers late each night as our festivities dragged on. Tea was very amenable to suggestions to the menus and customization. She was also mindful of any food sensitivities or allergies that our group may have had. Hopefully we will be back in Big Bear next year and if we are, we will certainly be reaching out to Tea again to provide us with catering service.
