Tonja Peña, Consultant/Advisor/Coach

Leveraging my expertise in leadership, consulting, coaching, entrepreneurship, project change management, and customer experience, I've learned to quickly identify the root challenges that keep people stuck to objectively help my clients realize momentum immediately. My career is rooted in hospitality where I spent more than 11 years learning the principles for personal and business success by focusing on the human experience. I’ve since applied those principles to service organizations typically burdened by politics and regulations, like government and healthcare, to streamline processes and drive innovation and growth. My career success comes from being able to read people quickly to get to the net of what they need and partner to develop a plan toward success. I've worked at successful startups, failed startups, healthy mid-sized companies, perpetually stable Fortune 50 companies, and behemoth companies that no one expected to go out of business because they weren’t positioned for growth and change. I'm Empathetic and an Activator, so I listen, translate challenges into opportunity, then help make stuff happen! I am your partner, providing guidance, support and accountability toward your goals. Here are some ways I partner with clients for the best outcome: - focus on your desired outcome and develop and implement a plan with the steps that will get you there - identify the types of jobs that might be of interest to you based on your ideal work style and interests - look at how you present on LinkedIn and your resume and make recommendations for aligning those tools to your goals - articulate who you are, what you do and why people should care - get grounded in conversations with real confidence by leveraging truths about yourself and your accomplishments - leverage Social Media, AI and the internet to grow your network - leverage that network to identify what job you really want or the work you want to do as a best next step for you - leverage that network to help you realize your goals or intentions

What do you love most about your job?

When working with individuals, I love showing professionals, especially mid-career individuals who have had some experience and know something isn't working, how easy it can be to make changes that make a big difference in how they feel about their career. I like helping people see how they have more control than they think and it begins to change everything.

When working with companies, I love solving business problems, even those that seem insurmountable. Most issues can be resolved starting with 2 people leading a small change toward a goal, then growing momentum from there.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my own business so that I could choose who I wanted to work with. If my schedule is filled with work that I love and I can get fulfilled from that work and have control over my time, I can give from that full place. If I can make a living doing what I love with organizations or people that I want to help, that makes is much easier to give back to the companies, people and causes that can benefit from my services, but may not have the resources to pay.

Why should our clients choose you?

While I listen to what my clients are saying, I am also listening for the root of the problem that may be deeper than they realize. This key listening skill allows us to see results more quickly because we are then dealing with the causes that create the conditions the clients really want to change. I also have a success focused mindset, where I'm always thinking of what outcome the client is looking for, so that I stay focused on supporting and encouraging the activities that will have a higher probability for success more quickly. I only work with a few coaching clients as I have business clients and a family that keep me busy. My goal is to help as quickly as I can so that my clients can move on.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I can provide my services online via Zoom or Google Meet. I will typically send notes or follow up activities that keep my clients focused on their desired outcomes, and I use email for those communications.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Meeting virtually or being mindful of the client's needs and requirements around Covid protocols ensure we're all kept safe.
