Hello Everyone, I appreciate all the notes and kind words. My company is "Get Fit with Smiley". I am a personal trainer and boxing instructor. I've trained clients of all different skill sets from the seasoned gym rat to the dedicated spin class vet to the soccer mom that just dropped the kids off at school to the person that never set foot in the gym before. OK, here's the deal: I was fat. I mean real fat. Like "my heart cries every time I switch positions on the couch" fat. But that wasn't always the case. I swam and played rugby in college but also remained active and competitive for years in softball, dodgeball and basketball leagues. When I moved to New York, I stopped participating in league competitions and thought I could replace my activity level with gym memberships. Not so much. I got out of shape and, as previously mentioned, fat. After 2 memberships in 3 years, I gave up the gym and tried a new activity to get me back in shape: boxing. Church St. Gym was my one and only stop to get me on the right path. I started with a class two nights a week and then continued with a membership. I haven't looked back since. Josh, Moses, Jason and the rest helped get me started not just on an exercise program, but more importantly, an eating program. It helps that I want to actually fight. Best of all, they treat me with the same respect and attention as if i was an aspiring fighter. As a result, I lost over 50 pounds in about 6 months thanks to their training and regiment. And best of all: it never gets old. I still enjoy going 3-4 times per week, which is about 3-4 times per week more than I ended up going to my old gym.Like any gym, it can be intimidating to hit the floor right away, so I recommend the class. However, you'll soon realize that there are people of all levels, ages, and, yes, both sexes. It will feel like you belong, even if you don't want to hit the ring.
