Many grief groups simply allow for a space to talk about our losses and the emotions surrounding those losses. We've probably all heard someone say "you just have to get over it" but they never tell us HOW to get over a painful loss. The Grief Recovery Method support group gives us a map through the terrain of grief, and a step-by-step way to find our way towards completeness. We discover what unfinished emotional business we have to say (such as apologies and forgiveness) in order to say goodbye to the pain and have permission to move forward. Through this weekly practice, we also learn how to be a "heart with ears," or an emotionally safe person for other grievers to talk to.

What do you love most about your job?

I love being a compassionate listener for grievers, and someone who believes in grief recovery, even when my client can't see that possibility for themselves. I love watching a hurting heart start to bind itself back together after acknowledging and expressing all the undelivered emotional communications the griever had for their lost loved one or lost hopes and dreams for the future.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After working in corporate America, I knew that treating people like productivity units who aren't supposed to have emotions on the job was just NOT going to work for me. I believe in treating people like human beings, and all that that encompasses. I believe we all need a supportive community of other authentic, vulnerable, real and honest humans in order to heal from loss and get through hard times. And being my own boss means I get to adapt my practice to suit the unique needs of each client who comes to me for help. I have no quotas, no time limits, and no productivity measures to which I answer. Your healing is my goal.

Why should our clients choose you?

As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist with a license in Marriage & Family Therapy, I know when the support you need is more than an 8-week group and to refer you to a therapist in your area. I operate with the utmost integrity and commitment to your healing journey, and will always be honest and open with you. If you believe, after completing the 8-week support group, that this program has not been helpful at all, I will refund your full registration fee.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I provide confidential, end-to-end encrypted Grief Recovery services online all over the US.
I provide confidential GR and Holistic Psychotherapy services online and in-person for residents of California.
I am in the Pacific Time Zone.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

When meeting in person, I require N95 or KN95 masks in the office, have a robust air filter running, and will reschedule (with no cancellation fee) whenever either of us have symptoms.
