About

I firmly believe it's important for dog owners to know what to do just as much as how important it is for the dog get training. Because of that, I try to be as hands off as possible. I will intervene and put hands on the leash to assist in diffusing a complicated situation and to give you, the owner, the example of what the training can look like, how to do it, what to look for when it comes to reactive dogs, and how to read your dog's body language.

Dog Training

We have been working with Tristan for a few weeks and although our pup still has a long way to go he is a completely new dog. Tristan has been wonderful to work with, he is very patient and understanding and truly cares about the success of the training. It was a big worry of mine that our dog would be untrainable but Tristan has proven that all it takes is lots of attention and care and any dog can be trained to be better! More...

Working with Tristan was great! On the first day we already had results with our dog Pancho. Would recommend working with Tristan to anyone!

Dog Training

Gosh where do I start, I came to know Tristan Gibson by bark.com which has been a blessing. He is probably one of the nicest, kindest, sincere, endearing people I’ve had the joy and pleasure of meeting. I believe my Bubba Ray Barkley, who is a mini golden doodle with most definitely fear aggression and probably a list of other things as well was Tristan‘s or is Tristan‘s Sixth client. For a young man who is starting out he is quite knowledgeable and truly cares about his client and their parent or pet Mom. My little guy came from a situation where the environment and surroundings were deplorable to say the least, and being breed by individuals who have no business owning or breeding anything. I’m a lot. Bubba’s a lot too. Tristan has been nothing but great to us. He’s a selfless individual who truly just cares about people and animals. Patience is something I’ve always lacked. Tristan is a saint with lots of patience. If ever you question or doubt whether or not he would be the right fit I can say with confidence that you’d be wrong. Some people are meant to do what they do, and this is what he was made for! I could go on. Anyone is welcome to reach out and I would be more than willing to share more of our personal story. P.S. His assistant was a gem too! I can’t wait to see where we are at the end of our 6th session from where we are today. Tristan is a rare one! I’m so grateful me and bubba found him. More...

Q&As

Being able to see dogs start to make their own decisions.

As I neared the end of Paramedic School, I adopted a dog with unforscene reactivity. As I worked and continue to work through his reactivity alongside him, I fell in love with dog training. I made the jump, and dropped out of Paramedic School to pursue dog training as a full time career. It's rewarding to see dogs make their own breakthroughs leading up to a very successful and happy life.

As a dad of a reactive dog I understand the stress. It's not fun having to backup or find an escape route from a encounter that can lead to be a hindrance to a peaceful walk and deadly at the worst. I have helped my dog through reactivity towards traveling cars, people on bicycles, dogs, and pedestrians passing nearby to us. I believe I can help you achieve the same.

Services

In this 8 week, one session per week course, your dog will be taught the place command, sit, down, stay, door manners, heel, loose leash walking, place and crate training.

You, as the owner will be taught verbal commands, cues, and how to access your dog’s prey and play drive to help cultivate a stronger bond.
Items included in the program are the slip lead, martingale collar, or the Herm Sprenger Prong Collar with a safety clip, a place cot, a 4 ft biothane training leash, and a treat pouch.

This program is 8 weeks long with one training session per week. In this program we will build on what was taught in Obedience I. We will work moving sit, moving down, distanced recall. We will also help socialize your dog at their pace to lead your dog into following commands in more distracting environments, successfully.

We will tackle the root cause of your dogs reactivity whether its be fear based, prey based, or resource guarding of their family. When we learn what is the source of the reactivity, we can then start making progress into helping them understand what is appropriate and inappropriate and setting themselves up to think through their own thoughts and actions.
