Fattmerchant is a great payment processing company, they provide everything a large payment processing company can but they are small enough that you can talk to a real person within a reasonably time frame and they are able to help every time. Great communication, no surprises and honest people. I've worked with the competition, the big names in the industry and they are certified thieves. Stax by Fattmerchant has provided by far the best service I've seen in crazy world of payment processing. Do yourself a favor and give them a call, ask questions and get signed up. Terrible Service we have lost over 10k already in disputes even though all documents where supplied, we have over 100 declined sales that we had to figure our ourselves . ...they have tools that don't work and customer service is seriously lacking. We have never had this issue with any other Merchant Service DO NOT risk your business with Fattmerchant aka STAX, they are really the worst service we have ever had the displeasure of doing business with and we have terminated their service. i was trying to find a new cc processor. i looked at both stax as well as payment depot. i decided to go with payment depot but went through the whole process with stax as well. i was approved by both. i told my sales person, austin blakely, that i decided to go with with payment depot. he emailed to say i was under no obligation and would not be charged but he would keep my account open(not activated) so if i changed my mind, i could switch. i decided to stick with payment depot and contacted austin repeatedly to have someone pick up terminals that we were sent and never used. checked my bank statement and was charged $149 for a month, no authorization, not one charge processed and now they say i owe them this. absolutely ridiculous. will protest with my bank and file report with the better business bureau. this is criminal! This company is a total fraud. We signed up with the provision that they wouldn't charge us before we started actually using the product. Then they started charging our company and refused to stop. This company will add monthly fees and if you do not catch it within 30 days, they consider them valid. Once they do remove, they may and have added the fee back months later. Honestly, very bad service. I think their main focus right now is all about "sales" and making "$$" as they are growing very fast. They completely forgot about the customer service part of their business.1. I called Customer Activation Specialist twice in the beginning stages, and both times I had been sent to voicemail. I'm not going to sit here and keep calling and be sent to voicemail. As much as you are busy, we are too. I'm a small business, I have to do a lot and I don't have a big team that can cover my daily tasks that I can sit here and monitor the day to day of fattmerhant.2. I tried to use the chat through my portal, and the chat was offline but I was told it was online.3. I started to get issues on taxes on my account. I would send links to my customers, and they would only be charged the actual amount of the project and not the tax. So the taxes are now being paid by me.4. I was trying to set up the terminal that was sent to me here by you guys. We tried setting it up on Friday, but we weren't successful, I was told we would receive a call at 8:00 Am on Tuesday, I did not receive any calls all day.5. I've called many times and been told that my ticket has been escalated and I will receive a call today, and today never comes.6. I have a bank transaction that my customer paid through a checking account (june 1, 2021) and that entire amount is not in my bank. IDK where that money went? $415.00.. paid tax out of my pocket.. took a week to finally get my money (june 7, 2021)7. I was told that my settlement would happen immediately and I should have money in my bank account the next day. What is the closing time for that? Missing 2 settlements on my account, probably gonna come in tomorrow, but that's not immediate and not next day.I have reached out to support May 29 about my tax issue. Has not been solved, and have not received a call about it.Emailed support on June 2 about all the issues I've listed above, received a email response June 3rd about receiving assistance... no call or assistance yet but thank goodness I got my $415.I'm glad they offer that free trail because I would be mad that I signed up with such a horrible service company.June 16, 2021: Been a week now since I've been told I will receive exit interviews etc, and have yet to hear back on the cancellation I requested for. I've been searching for a credit card processing solution for our business (small architecture firm) for some time and looked into several service providers. Stax by Fattmerchant allows for a tremendous amount of flexibility of options for tracking, invoicing, etc. (including the simple functionality we were looking for) with simple/fair monthly fees (unlike other payment processing providers). Heard many good things about Fattmerchant (AKA Stax), about their pricing model, and customer service. Unfortunately, our experience within the first few weeks has not been as great as we hoped. The sales rep had waived the first month's fees even though the promotion was over. This was nice of them to do; but what they did not tell us was that the timer for that first month would start 9 days before we received our onboarding call and terminal, which doesn't seem very reasonable given that we weren't able to even take payments until then. Also, it seems the terminal that we actually want (PAX A920) is in short supply due to a global chip shortage. Okay, that's fine, we'll take a less modern wired terminal in the meantime while we wait. Unfortunately, the sales rep has no ETA on when the actual terminal we want will be in stock, and couldn't even add us to a waitlist of some sort. Things begun getting worse from the moment we got the temporary terminal; it had faulty software that took our employees over four hours of troubleshooting over the phone to figure out that Fattmerchant had not pre-loaded the correct software on the device before shipping as they should have, and that we needed to download an update other ethernet before the WiFi could work. During our onboarding call, we also found that we couldn't even login to our online portal account because Fattmerchant had created an invalid pending business listing for us, which had to be fixed during the call. After that was fixed with a backend update, we logged in to find that Fattmerchant had pre-configured our business phone number to be a completely different business's phone number that we hadn't told them, so they must have googled the wrong business and entered that wrong number in for us. Since we are a medical healthcare facility, we asked our onboarding specialist if anything needed to be done to take FSA/HSA card payments, as typically that needs to be setup (at least that was the case with Square which we were moving away from). The Fattmerchant rep said no, FSA/HSA card payments would work fine out of the box. We later found this to be untrue when a patient had difficulty paying with their HSA debit card, and after a poor customer service experience, we ended up having to revert back to using the old Square terminal to take the patient's payment. So far, the only good thing about Fattmerchant seems to be the reduced fees compared to our previous Square merchant, but even that wasn't the case since apparently Fattmerchant randomly decided to charge us $100 during our second week with them, despite having the first month's fees waived! This is still an ongoing issue, and at this point, with all the random issues we've had, and the fact that we're now using a credit card machine from the dark ages compared to the sleek, modern, elegant Square terminal we had before, it really has not been a great experience with Fattmerchant/Stax. BEWARE of Fattmerchant they are growing in there quest to be the most unpopular merchant service provider in the business. This company is extremely well at getting people to sign up and convince them what they need but in reality it is what Fattmerchant wants Fatmerchant takes... Once you give them your banking info Good Luck. They control it and you will do what they say and you have zero recourse. I have had several issues with them on the processing side as well as the payment side and have lost $1000s of dollars because of the lack of there support. I am in the process of moving all of our accounts away from them and can not get away fast enough. Like a warehouse club that charges membership fees, the Fatmerchant business model charges a membership fee for its services and therefore can offer credit transaction fees at true costs. The savings can be significant compared to other merchant services that markup the transaction fees charged by credit card companies. Fattmerchant's pricing model drew me in. And as a result of the pricing model, as well as how much easier it is to process payments, we offer payment by credit card much more broadly than we did before. The crazy thing is, we soon doubled the amount of credit card payments we were processing, but the fees we paid were still less than before. My company has been taking credit/debit card payments for our online continuing education courses since 2003. We recently switched to FattMerchant because of their great "subscription" type rates, that are simple and easy to follow. I have been tracking their fees daily against what we were being charged and the savings have been exactly what Sean (our FattMerchant Rep) said they would be. Finally a trustworthy credit card processor. From my very first call with Sid I knew this was a company that actually cares about the client. The wireless processor is easy to use and I love that I no longer have a cord that just gets in the way. I charge it on the first day of the week then I use it all week and it still didn't need a charge. I have been also loving the calculator & calendar right in the same unit. We have been using Fattmerchant for 2 years. When we started using them, they asked for our customer's card data files from our previous card processor, which they gave to Fattmerchant. We have recently moved to a new software system that will save our company a lot of time and money and now we have asked Fattmerchant to give our customer card data tokens to our new software company, but they are refusing to do so. They say it's "against company policy." So they will accept the data files, but they will not return the favor when you need to switch to a new card processor. I'm extremely disappointed with Fattmerchant for their lack of caring for their customer. It will cost us a lot of time and money to call every single one of our customers, ask for their credit card info, and manually enter it into our new system.
