This was a great experience and I have a better dog because of her wonderful training at Black Dog Farm. During Molly’s stay at the farm she got wonderful care and lots of loving. She had lots of instructions and plenty of free play. When Molly came home I was given written instructions so I could continue training her in the same way as she was on the Farm. I had no idea what to expect when I booked my 2 week board and Training for my sweet dog. My family was about to give up on our adopted dog because he was so hyper. He would jump on everyone that came to our house. He chased our cows, knocked over our toddler, run in the house uninvited, and eat any food that was left on the counter. We called Kris in desperate need of some training for our crazy dog. I had an appointment with her to see the property and place where my dog would be staying. She asked questions about the problems we had with our dog. She immediately knew what to do with him. While my dog was there for 2 weeks.. We got videos and updates of his progress. I couldn't believe it was the same dog I dropped off. After 2 weeks of him being gone, Kris brought him to our house and spent much time teaching us his new commands and training.. I was amazed on how well mannered he was just after 2 weeks.. She fixed all of our problems we had with him in just 2 WEEKS!! As we still need to work with him and keep him fresh on what we expect of him now. He is still doing amazing. Kris is amazing at what she does and I would recommend her over and over again.. Kris trained our 16 month old male standard poodle in a 3 week board and train Teddy was reactive to other dogs, barking and growling. Kris did incredible work in training basic commands to insure self-confidence and enabling him to accept and play with other dogs. She took him on many outings in the community to practice being around dogs, noises, and people to help him become more at ease. The boarding facility was excellent and Kris a great trainer. She sent us texts and videos of his training several times a day. We were able to keep up with his activities, progress and training. His skills in basic commands and a few new ones were polished. Kris developed a wonderful relationship with him and he seemed to have a grand time. She spent a day with us at the end of his training teaching us and ensuring that he would be able to continue on his new skills. She has already responded to several questions we sent to her by text. My 5 y/o Border Collie Lacy and I just completed 5 group lessons. I needed some guidance with my reactive girl to be able to lessen her anxiety and improve her general obedience - walking on a leash properly, sit/stay and recall. What do you love most about your job?
I get to spend my days (and nights) opening doors for people to a better undstanding of, and relationship with, their dogs. I love stating from day one, but sometimes the biggest reward is that owner that has almost given up, but now has that deep bond of trust, respect and love with their dog.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a deep love of animals in general. As a child I trained my own dogs and horses, and then started helping friends and relatives. That got others asking me to help them with theirs, and so after 20+ years in a law enforcement career, I launced Black Dog Farm Training, named after my personal favorite - The Rottweiler.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Remote and online can be done, but to really read a situation in a dog/human relationship it has to be observed. This is best done in real time, in real environments. Whether that be private or group lessons or a Board and Train situation.
BASIC BOARD AND TRAIN
Best for puppies or dogs that need a quick introduction to basic commands, leash manners and crate training. This 14 day program will introduce your pup to:

GROUP CLASSES
Group classes are held throughout the year at various locacations, call or text for details. The is an affordable alternative to other packages and offer great socialization. Check back often for upcoming class information.
All group classes are based on AKC Good Citizen standards, and certificante can be earned.
CUSTOM PACKAGES
Custom Training covers such issues as behavior modification, leash manners, ESA Training, rehabilitation, and other specific needs or issues. May require an initial inhome evaluation.
