Before that we were ooking at several architects we felt her process with clear, well layout and happy with her plans. Plus she has done recent work for us and for friends.
We now have bid drawings after a very successful design process.
All designs were presented were very good. We finally chose one idea and one plan we wanted and one that encompasses all our ideas. We had ideas in mind which we brought to this as inspiration to this process.
We were also able and got ample time to preview M,E,P, mechanical electrical amd plumbing drawings. We got to review and choose layout designs. Electrical lights and outlets. She was helpful and was able to answer any questions with regarding to code.
We like the idea proposed in the proposal plan that we get choose our and have freedom to choose our own products. Light fixtures, and kitchen and bath products. This was very helpful to us. As we are designers.
The previous contractors reccomended had over 20+ years of experience with Arlene and her projects. They came with highly rated reviews on there pages and solid work references. These were established contractors.

For many years my wife and I had dreamed of owning a home that would be the perfect place to raise our children as well as the right place to retire. It is very hard to find a home that is perfect, or close to what you want. We found that out quickly after looking at many homes, and the ones that were close were out of our budget. That’s when we decided to build our own home on a parcel of land we found in the perfect town.
After visiting with a few architects, it was clear that Omar Gutierrez was the right one for us. He was more than willing to come out to meet us which was very thoughtful of our time. We had an opportunity to talk and get to know each other. He had a genuine interest to learn about us; our lifestyle, our likes, and dislikes, as well as our needs, now and in the future. This made us feel that he truly had an interest in us, and not in what would be easier for him.
The initial design stage went very well, he was able to capture our vision of what we wanted our home to look and feel like, all within our budget. The revisions were seamless, he was accommodating in every way to our tweaks and changing thoughts. We could tell that he had done his research on the Village ordinances because he would mention them when something was or was not permitted. He was also great working with our contractors because they were able to solve discrepancies quickly and easily. He was always available to take our call at any time of the day and prioritized the completion of our home.
I cannot stress enough that he was a great architect to work with. I would recommend him to anyone for any project. If we are ever in need of further architectural services we would definitely be calling Omar Gutierrez.

My wife and I hired this company to redesign and remodel our kitchen, family room, master bathroom, guest bathrooms, fireplace and few other things. This was not an easy project as we purchased a house from the 1930's that had a lot of problems!!! We needed to redo all the electrical, the layout, fix the walls, add insulation, add lighting and make the area more efficient. The end result is beautiful, it is traditional with a modern flair. We are confident to say that everything they did behind the walls is up to code and goes beyond our expectations.
Before we began our remodeling project when we turned on our microwave the lights would flicker. Our stove was unusable, my foot went through the floor in the master bathroom because it was rotted through and most the floors and walls were slanted. Every time they opened a wall, they said, "why did the previous builders do it this way?" There was a lot to fix! Rktects did a fantastic job at communicating the problems, coming up with solutions to fix them, creating a great plan to utilize the best space and implementing the process in an efficient way. I work from home so I was there for the entire construction project and the workers were very professional and worked hard. The whole project took a few months and the end result is beautiful. Since they have finished the job, we have not had one problem, everything works as expected and their service was truly top notch.
In terms of pricing, they are not going to be the cheapest out there but when it comes to quality construction you get what you pay for. Rktects delivered an excellent service and product, we could not be more pleased. If you want a cheap job with cheap materials then this is not the company to hire. But if you want someone who does it right the first time so it can withstand Chicago weather and works how it should be, then this is the company to hire. We were very impressed with the high-end materials used, the excellent customer service and in the end the price was very fair for what we got in return. I highly suggest and if we ever move, we look forward to hire them again!
