JLM Psychological Therapies

Hello and welcome. My name is Julia Limper-Menapace and I’m an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Please follow this link for a quick video hello: https://youtube.com/shorts/1_ZuNHp3SIA I aim to help people make peace with their thoughts in a warm, supportive therapy environment. My philosophy is that everyone deserves a chance at recovery. I’m looking forward to working together and seeing how we can make this a reality for you. My passion is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), meaning you and I will work together to both figure out what’s lead to any problems you may be experiencing and what tools may be helpful to manage them. However, with mental health “one size fits all” rarely works, so my approach is integrative: Therefore, we will likely draw on tools from CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and similar approaches, depending on what you are currently dealing with. The idea is that, if we work well together, at the end of treatment you will no longer need me, as you would have become your own therapist, with a toolbox full of strategies to help you maintain your progress. Having worked in mental health in the NHS for over five years, I have experience working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD and PTSD. I specialise in OCD and trauma, therefore, if you feel your problem is the result of difficult experiences or events, we will take a gradual approach of making sense of your experiences. Especially if you experience strong feelings of shame, guilt, or anxiety, we will ensure that we will approach therapy at a pace you feel comfortable at. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space with the aim to allow you to discuss any difficult thoughts and experiences.

Why should our clients choose you?

If you have been struggling with difficult thoughts, memories, behaviours or interpersonal relationships, you have come to the right place. Your goals may be to accept or understand the past, stop self-sabotaging or just understand why you feel the way you do. I offer a warm, compassionate space so that we can explore these challenges and find solutions together.

I know how difficult it can be to reach out and take the first step to speak to someone you have never met before! We will take things at your pace and first arrange an initial free chat to discuss how I can support you. The best way to contact me is via email or via my website - please keep an eye out on your junk folder.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I am experienced providing therapy via Zoom or other means of communication, and research shows that this form of therapy is just as effective as face to face therapy. However, I am also able to provide face to face sessions upon request in the Basingstoke area.
