I began engaging in Sally's function and flexibility classes during Covid 19 Lockdown. Prior to lockdown I attended the gym for spin and circuit sessions. Once I started attending the online F&F I loved it, even though we were online she watched closely what we were doing and was able to pull us up if we were doing the exercise incorrectly. I really valued the regular classes that were always different, targeting different areas of our bodies.
When the leisure centre reopened and Sally's classes started happening in person I began attending those and absolutely love them. I now only attend the leisure centre for F&F and prioritise it when I can. Sally has a knack of knowing just what you need and I always always come out of the class feeling so much better, feeling like those areas that were stiffening up and / or weakening have had a good loosening up and wake up. She gets you targeting certain muscles and joints, to loosen them and strengthen them. Even if I'm not feeling great and have a huge stress headache from work, I always feel amazing after her classes.
Sally is really knowledgeable about the body and is always able to offer different levels of challenge within sessions to ensure everyone is working within their abilities.
I also engaged Sally for some 1:1 personal training sessions as I was experiencing issues with ankle and calf injuries which had always prevented me increasing my running distance much over 6 miles. With Sally's input I began to understand where my issues were and what I needed to do about them. I was able to increase my distance to run a successful half marathon.

I went down to try a free taster session and I loved it! The coaches scaled the workout to everyone's ability and we're very welcoming to newcomers. The coaches spent the time to explain the different movements and checked I was doing them correctly. The gym had a fantastic atmosphere where everyone is working to achieve the same goal. I was always interested in sport, playing rugby since I was 11, but my real fitness journey started around 7 years ago. At the end of my first year of being let loose at uni, I found myself unhappy with my body and how overweight and unfit I was. I decided that something needed to change and so began my weight loss and fitness journey! By the time I had finished uni I had lost almost 20kg and I had become well and truly obsessed with the gym and good food. After seeing firsthand just how much working on my health and fitness had improved my life, I was determined to help others do the same and decided to become a Personal Trainer! Whilst working as a personal trainer I found that a lot of my clients were coming to me with intimate issues that they had not discussed with anyone else and just by talking about these issues, a load was lifted and we often talked out a solution together. Although I still have a passion for health and helping people achieve their weight loss goals, helping people deal with their bigger issues was for me, just as rewarding as any weight loss accomplishments (although these things more often than not go hand in hand!) Since then I have dedicated myself to being an Personal Trainer and have worked with hundreds of many men and women who are determined and committed to improving their lives. Yes! During all of the lockdowns I coached all of my clients remotely, taking them through workouts and nutrition plans via zoom and Skype as well as providing the day to day support as standard.
