I am a Social worker who has worked in the adult mental health field for the last 10 years+ in everything from housing to crisis work. Through my practice I am dedicated to providing affordable counseling to those in need. I specialize in individual and relationship counseling for those who identify as part of the LGBTQ++ community or other alternative communities, although all are welcome.

I attended the Veterans Mental Health First Aid for professional development as a lifelong learner what I didn’t except to gain from this course was personal development. Sherry is incredible in her delivery of the content. Keeps the participants as engaged as possible. Thank you Sherry for 2 dynamic and powerful days.
What we experience as children becomes a part of who we are as adults. I work with clients to help them understand how this can show up in our day to day lives and contribute to our struggles with depression, anxiety, or in our relationships as well as our ability to truly enjoy life. Working from a person centered and relational perspective we will work together, you in the drivers seat and me as your guide.
I love that the work that I do gives me the chance to meet new people and really get to know them, and through this process it helps to heal past traumas and bring a sense of peace and safety that they didn't know existed before.
I had been working for about 15 years in an office job and I knew I needed to find a space where I could really spread my wings. I was getting frustrated and was struggling and since I didn't think just changing to another job would change that I decided to go back to school to become a therapist and start my own private practice.
When looking for a therapist it is always my recommendation to talk with a few, or as many as you need to feel like you can connect with the therapist. Therapists often offer free 15 minute consultations so you can do just that.
I tell my potential clients that when someone works with me my first priority is to start building a trusting and safe space. Therapy can feel uncomfortable, awkward, and just weird, especially at first, but it doesn't have to stay that way - although I can't say the awkwardness really ever goes away, we are human after all. Basically, when you work with me you get me, Tanya, not a therapist version of Tanya. I consider therapy to be a chance to just be who you are, and so I bring myself into sessions.
Yes. I provide services online or over the telephone.
