Studio Raphael isn't just about teaching you music, it's about teaching you self-expression. Truly, there's so much more to picking up an instrument than just learning the notes, chords, and how to cover other people's tunes. Learning an instrument offers you the incredible opportunity to share what you have to offer to the world through your own unique musical expression. If you're just interested in learning how to play an instrument, that's okay too!

My son has learned piano since Sept 2021. Ms Tsang is his piano teacher from the beginning. We can see he has made a great progress from knowing nothing in piano then now he can play songs very confidently. Ms Tsang is very patient and nice. Even though my kid is not quite in love with playing piano at the beginning, Ms Tsang always encourages him to play and we are very grateful for her. We hope my son can enjoy playing piano and overcome the difficulty when playing and be more patient.

The amazing and loving performing arts teachers at CFA helped my kids developed self confidence, perseverance, and explore their own strengths! They not only have professional musical production, they also love and care about your children! My kids all enjoyed the performance very very much! Thank you CFA and Elizabeth!
Tian Ip, a prominent musician in Vancouver, started playing classical piano when she was four and guzheng (Chinese harp) when she was nine. After garnering a piano performance diploma from the Associated Board of Royal School of Music at the age of 16, Tian pursued further music education in audio engineering from the Art Institute of Vancouver, choral conducting and general music studies from Capilano University, as well as a degree in pipe organ performance (with a minor in music technology) from the University of British Columbia. With a strong passion for teaching, Tian has also obtained qualification in Yamaha method and Orff-Schulwerk over the last decade of her professional career. With over 20 years of teaching experiences, Tian Ip has also earned a reputation in the local music scene as a capable keyboardist where she has shared a stage with many renounced artists from Asia. She has also worked as a music director and has led adult and children’s choirs at her church for over half a decade. Being fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Tian was recruited onto the board of director for the BC Chinese Music Association in 2018 and has performed with their youth orchestra as well as their full orchestra on various occasions. With an extended knowledge in many instruments, Tian enjoys playing in the gamelan (Balinese percussive orchestra) and the Taiko drumming group during her own time. All of her vibrant musical experiences have enhanced her ability to arouse interest in her students over the years. Tian believes that music learning is for all ages, and it is directly linked to one’s well being. Music aids in eye-hand coordination, in fostering discipline, developing problem-solving skills, and enhancing memory. It is Tian’s goal to cater her teaching method to each student individually in order to help the student to gain these wonderful benefits of music playing. lessons available as monthly package in person or online.
Who doesn't love music? I love to connect with people from all over the world, with different life experiences, through playing music. It gives me tremendous satisfaction in helping adults and children express themselves and find joy in learning an instrument. I believe that music is a skill that applies to many areas in life; it is a discipline crucial for a child's learning.
With today's technology and everyone constantly looking at a smart device or laptop, I think it is important to express one self, and to be able to communicate other than using social media. Music is a great language that reaches to everyone around the world, and soothes the souls of those who plays as well as those who listens.
I am committed to helping my students get to where they want musically. If you want to learn pop music, to accompany yourself singing, to learn classical piano, to learn theory, I am there to help. Having worked in many areas and with many groups in the music industry, I can cater to my student's age, interest and learning style.
