BOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Our senior boxer girl Bella has stayed with Shane and Janine twice this month and we are so very pleased with the care, attention and love they shared with her!
We have used "big box" boarding kennels in the past and have always felt that Bella couldn't wait to get home - not so with Shane and Janine. Both of them are AMAZING - Bella was treated to wonderful walks(both on and off leash), massages, loads of cuddles and even had a movie night with them on the sofa! Shane even taught Bella "hide and treat" with Janine's home made doggie treats! Trust me, that must have been a milestone as Bella is quite a Queen and usually the treats are handed to her!
Both Shane and Janine sent us daily updates via texts, videos and photos - were knew that Bella was being loved and extremely well taken care of by them!
Bella will always stay with Shane and Janine when we are away - our hearts are at ease knowing she has such a wonderful "home away from home"!

Since elementary school I’ve always had a passion for animals. Becoming a veterinarian was something that I had always envisioned for myself. However, sports were always a big part of my life as well and so I ended up taking the physiotherapy route. So that meant I had to find another way to pour my love and soul in taking care of animals. I started off with dog walking for those in my neighbourhood and my journey with pet services started to grow. As a pet parent my entire life, I simply can’t see any better way of spending my time. My passion for pets and animals will never subside. Each and everyone has their own quirks, personalities, and beauty and I will always be thrilled to work with any pet. So after a while I decided to create my business: Active Furiends and my life has never felt so full with all the kisses and fur I collect on my clothes each and everyday!
As a pet parent for may years, I understand the anxiety that comes with deciding who to trust with your pets’ well-being-not being with them is hard enough. First and foremost, I live by my reputation, and value trust and dependability. My goal is to give you an idea of who I am, including my hopes and passions, and in the process, I hope to alleviate your nerves and gain your trust.
All the services that Active Furiends provides are based on an in person appearance. This includes: dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, dog boarding and pup ventures.
There were many protocol’s in place to keep the owner, their pet and our employees safe. This included: hand sanitizer before and after handling a pet, face coverings if entering a property, and no services being provided if the owner or the employee were feeling/showing any symptoms.
