We attended a wedding this past weekend, and ThunderStorm had set up their ice cream machine for the guests during cocktails and over the reception. It was 8 hours of PURE BLISS! I'm pretty sure my son had 5 bowls before dinner!
I heard it was Dole Whip...the same stuff from Disney World and it tasted AMAZING!

The very best thing to do is listen to the client!
The client is the person/couple that usually spends the most time with the guests, and will usually have the best insight to the guest likes and dislikes in music. It's usually a great idea to take all of their suggestions into high consideration.
Apart from that as a DJ, you need to be able to read the crowd well! I don't play my music off of a scripted playlist and apply it to every event, DJs need to see what the guests are reacting to well, and what they are disliking and play accordingly. They also need to know when to switch from one genre to another and do in a smooth and melodic fashion that doesn't disrupt the flow and atmosphere of the party.
My style is fun loving, laid back, and interactive.
During the planning stages, I do my best to make sure I'm easily accessible should you have any questions or need any advice. I try to create a dialogue where you feel you're welcome to make suggestions and tell me your vision as I try to make your party exactly what you have in mind.
Once the big day comes I do my best to make sure your guests know that I'm approachable should they have any requests. Also, because I'm very comfortable on the mic, I try my best to be as fun and as interactive as I can, along with making sure I'm playing the songs that your guests are wanting to hear in accordance to what's on your playlist and request list.
The absolute best part of DJing is the reactions I get from the crowd when I'm playing that perfect song at the perfect time!
Nothing is more satisfying than having a great crowd.... then being able to play the perfect song for the moment. I love getting reactions like having your guest look at me in amazement and mouthing the words "NO WAY!?!?". Or play the perfect song and have one of your guests say "It's like he's reading my mind, lol".
One of my favorite reactions to date is when I had a bride hire me, once her prior DJ pulled out last minute. I absolutely slew my set, and then afterward she just stood in the middle of the floor absolutely shell shocked from how well I did. She then later came up to me and said that the other DJ pulling out was the best thing that could've happened. I felt warm and fuzzy inside knowing I made her wedding totally awesome.
I guess making your guest happy makes me happy! :)

I originally started to DJ because of my love for Hip Hop and Reggae back when I started in the mid-90s. As time progressed I found that I simply liked to collect and play the music of all genres. Classic Rock, House, Disco, Pop, Top 40, EDM, Country, are all genres that I'm proficient at now as I've learned the ins and out to all genres.
