My name is Jan Steele and I play and teach the saxophone, flute, clarinet and music theory and I'm a composer. I'm a very experienced music teacher with years of experience teaching saxophone, clarinet, flute, music theory and jazz improvization in state and independent schools, colleges, universities, schools of music and privately. Nowadays I confine my music teaching to my home in Caversham, Reading, Berkshire.
I am a Professional Musician and I offer Saxophone, Clarinet & Flute Lessons, whether for help with Exams, or just for fun. If you live local to me, I can come to your house. If you live further away, you can come to me, or I can teach online. I also offer help with improvisation/Jazz, and offer a Jazz Workshop for those who are more proficient on their instrument.

Jon is a great tutor and full of knowledge. I really look forward to my lessons and I always come away with something new. Being disabled comes with challenges and Jon is not fazed one bit and has a lot of patience. He is very warm and good sense of humour. Teaches in a way that helps it stick to the memory and full of encouragement. I would recommend Jon in a heartbeat!
I teach the saxophone and only the saxophone, an instrument that I have been passionate about playing and teaching for more than 30 years. My aim is for you to get as much pleasure and satisfaction from playing as I do, and to achieve this, my technique is to build my lessons around the needs of the individual player and their own personal aims and aspirations. One constant that I do insist on though is that my lessons are enjoyable and as much fun as possible!
