My lessons are fun and tailored to my students' interests. There is a world of music out there and it's important to explore it in the learning process. I travel to my students' houses rather than teaching from a studio, and highlight the importance of daily piano practice to maximise students' potential. I also encourage regular performance to help students become accustomed to playing in front of an audience.

What do you love most about your job?

I love teaching people about music, my biggest passion in life. It brings me great joy to pass on my knowledge and see my students have fun playing music. I also really love working with a wide variety of students and understanding their story and what brought them to study music.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked in a variety of other businesses before, picking up skills along the way. In these businesses I learnt what worked well, and what I felt I could do better. I started teaching alongside this job, and eventually quit my job to go completely freelance. It was a risk, but I worked incredibly hard to build up my reputation and connected with other businesses in the local area. Despite the pandemic, 5 years on I'm still going strong.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have a very individualistic approach to teaching my students. I believe that hard work and regular practice is fundamental to success of course, like with any skill, but I also believe it's vital that my students have fun, and feel like they can incorporate their own interests into their lessons. This way, I tailor my lessons to the individual student, whilst also teaching the core skills including scales, sight reading and listening. From a safety standpoint I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and undergo safeguarding training with the NSPCC for everyone's safety and wellbeing.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yeah I do teach online as well as in person. I can offer lessons on Zoom, Skype, Facetime and WhatsApp video.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I take regular lateral flow tests to ensure I do not have the virus. I use hand-gel before entering anyone's house. If I come into anyone with Covid-19 I isolate for 7 days and continue teaching online, taking regular tests before teaching in-person again.
