I had some headshots done with Chanon yesterday. Now explaining before hand that I normally look like a plate of poached eggs in photos kind of gave her the idea about how much I love my photo being taken (NOT!) �
But as part of my package Chanon arranged for a lovely make up artist Rebecca to turn me into a lady and then Chanon set about making me feel very comfortable and at ease. John and Lorraine are fantastic photographers! They arrived dead on 11am to capture images of my husband and I getting ready and left our venue just after 8pm following photographing my daughter/dad dance.
The price for their time was very reasonable as some photographers we met with were rather pretentious for their fee.
John & Lorraine were professional throughout and took initiative yet happily slipped into the background and took natural shots when things quietened down. Lorraine even kindly pushed our son round the car park and got him to sleep when no one else seemed to be able to.
With Great Photo, nothing is too much trouble! We had to whittle down 586 images to 75 for our wedding album and John must've compiled us 3 different proofs following last minute changes on our part.
All of the images are tidied up and absolutely beautiful. Hand delivered only 3 weeks after the wedding! Fantastic turn around time, as promised.
I would use John and Lorraine again and have recommended them to one of my best friends who is getting married next September!

It's all about timing and positioning. The best photographers know when to be patient and wait, and when to capture a fleeting moment before it's too late. You've also got to think carefully about the final picture - there's more to a great photograph than just documenting what's happening.
Generally I like to meet the client face to face, since it's much more relaxing for them and allows us both to go into greater detail about what we want to get out of the job. We'll talk about where and when the client wants the shoot to take place, what sort of style they're going for, whether they were inspired by any particular image or look, and what kind of medium they want their pictures delivered in. It's all about what the client wants and how well I can deliver on their vision.
The happiness that my photographs bring people. Ever since I was an amateur it's always been a thrill to see people react to a beautiful picture or a unique moment caught on film or digital, and now I get to do that while also making a living from it!
I spent quite a few years working retail and was frustrated by the lack of opportunity to express my creativity, as well as being managed by people who clearly didn't care about me. At the same time I was fielding requests from friends, family, and eventually complete strangers to take their photos and cover their family events. Eventually enough people were asking that I quit my day job and I haven't looked back since.
