Hi there, my name is Shaun Valerio and I teach guitar, bass and drums {Drum lessons not available right now due to Covid}. I teach complete beginners, intermediate level players and some advanced concepts. I also have a degree in Sound Production and teach you how to record, mix and master your songs in my home studio. Don’t worry if this all sounds too heavy. Lessons can be tailored in any way you like.
I love being able to take my students to the next level in their playing whilst providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere! Music has been my passion since I was very young and after discovering guitar (specifically classical) I've been hooked ever since.
I had a couple of friends and family friends come to me needing last minute tuition to pass exams, I then started working under another tutor, helping them with their overflow of students but I chose to leave that as I wanted to start my own teaching studio where I could teach in the way I felt fit the student best.
I have 5 years of teaching experience, teaching all kinds of different people. Classical guitar performance and tuition is my passion, not just a means of making money. I have experience teaching young children as well as those with extra support needs. I have a PVG (full disclosure) from disclosure Scotland and certificates from EduCare.
Absolutely! I routinely teach using Zoom, Skype and WhatsApp but I'm happy to use whatever service my students prefer. The reason I like Zoom is that we can use the share screen function and mark the music notation together but I can use other services also.
I will not teach in my home or any one else's until the government say it is safe to do so. I would consider teaching in gardens or parks if it's local enough. Until further notice, my teaching will be held online.
