I have worked with mental health issues within the public sector of Social Services and National Health service since 1988. From then on I developed a keen interest in how people overcome the difficulties they had and how psychotherapy in particular can help them get better. I undertook my core training in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents College and then continued as a psychodynamic counsellor with Kings College working at Guys Hospital.

After a life-changing event in 2004, I became fascinated in why we humans do the things we do. Why do people hurt us? Why do we hurt someone in return? And most importantly, why do we sometimes even hurt ourselves? It can be as small as self-sabotage through behaviour patterns like an addiction to a phone, or as large as a destructive behaviour like drug or alcohol addiction. Those questions took me on a voyage of discovery to understand human behaviour in such a way as to learn not only what causes it, but also what causes it to stop.
