I am a qualified integrative counsellor. This means that I have three styles of counselling that I use in my sessions with clients. This is dependent upon the client that I am working with, so that the sessions are bespoke to the uniqueness of my client. Sessions are led by you in that you bring to sessions what you wish to bring. I do not lead and I help you to find your own answers to your presenting challenges.

I use a practical application of exercises within my formal coaching and therapeutic practice to address a plethora of big emotions including Anger, Stress, Anxiety, depression and PTSD/Trauma. Once we have largely healed your inner conflict, you can stop the cascade of destructive emotions and self sabotage that ends up making you unhappy, anxious, stressed, irritable, exhausted and unwell. If it suits you and your situation we will integrate mindfulness into the therapy work as a way of training and transforming the mind, helping you to change how you think and feel about your experiences and giving you more choice about how you respond. It gives you the gift of time to STOP, take a breath and move out of autopilot enabling you to break the habitual patterns of behaviour. Mindfulness helps reprogramme the brain and body for relaxation and helps with a magnitude of medical issues too. These include - reduced pain and inflammation, - lowered blood pressure, - improved quality of sleep, - improved chronic illness such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue and ME - Chronic pain, - Migraine headaches, - Digestive problems like IBS and Crohn’s disease, - Heart Disease - Type II Diabetes Once the pathway of emotions is cleared this allows us to uncover a wonderful question "Now I feel free, peaceful and at ease, what will I do with all this extra time and energy?" Well we then get to work on focusing our efforts on your what's next? or finding your why?
I became a therapist because I realised I had a knack for guiding people through difficuties. I am human and have fought my own battles, not always with ease but with hope and determination and if I can help one client live with more authenticity and pride, I have succeeded. I feel such a sense of pride watching my clients transform and free themselves to live a full and vibrant life.
I suffered numerous bouts of shingles within a very short period of time and was later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. There was very little the doctors could do for me and often I couldn't even get out of bed. Growing up was a challenging time for me and I had reached burn out. I was totally unaware of how much emotional baggage I was carrying around and how badly it was affecting my health. I was too busy, being busy and not being inutune with my body until it was to late and the shingles stopped me in my tracks.
The road to recovery was very long, frustrating and far from smooth or easy. It wasn't until I made some drastic life changes and regularly practiced mindfulness that my health started to improve. The results speak for themselves; not only am I back to my bubbly, energetic self, I have reduced my anxiety so that I rarely know it is there and haven't had shingles since. The rest they say is history, I left the corporate world and followed my passion of helping others to heal themselves and not rely on Western Medicine and drugs.
There are too many people suffering in the world today and with the NHS bursting at the seems I knew I wanted to help people take action to try to prevent future suffering by early intervention techniques.
I learned quite early on that people often just want to be heard, to be listened to and understood. It takes enormous strength for a person to undergo therapy, and I am humbled and honored that someone could put the kind of trust in me that they need to have in order to dig deep within themselves and show me who they really are, to trust me to help them in the way I am trained to do. I class myself more as a coach than a therapist as I encourage self reliance and ensure my clients have a massive tool kit that will help them through, no matter what life throws at them.
I am serious when I need to be but I also like to use my sense of humor in therapy, with children and adults. I think it’s important for us all to sometimes take a step back from where we are in life and just laugh at something. Laughter is such a powerful healer for all ages and when we learn to accept things we make huge progress in our healing.
