I was lucky enough to have a couple of mindfullness sessions with Tom in which he was trying to help me overcome a few confidence issues I had with my running. I never expected the results I got from these sessions. Tom completely changed my thinking for the better and I can't thank him enough for that. My run times have improved loads and I have a much more confident approach to running, can't recommend Tom enough.

I have been working with adults and children for as long as I can remember. I started working as a nanny back when I was 16. I then decided that working with children is a fascinating experience that helps me learn so much about the world and society as a whole. I have continued to work with children first in primery schools then moved on to special schools where I have supported students with their emotional difficulties. I have decided to study psychology to expand on this knowledge and support it with the valid research and theories. I have been a part of few charity movements that help people with their life struggles like HomeStart or The National Autistic Society where I was a mentor. My greatest fascination is with child development and attachment theories. It has started when I attended the NHS seminar on Parent Infant Mental Health. I knew then that this path will lead me to carrier where I will be helping people bring the change in their lives and provide support along the way.
People's stories always fascinated me and especially their journeys in life, how they became who they are and what decisions they have made along the way that they are proud of or regret. This fascination led me to study psychology and later on counselling and psychotherapy. I am now on my personal journey to expand my knowledge of therapeutic approaches. I attend many seminars and conferences in the UK as well as abroad. I receive personal and group supervision regularly and continue my development by attending training at the psychotherapy institute each month.
What is psychotherapy?
In direct translation from the greek language, psychotherapy means healing the soul (psyche- meaning breath, spirit, soul and therapeia- meaning healing). Psychotherapy is a method of psychological treatment supporting your personal development. Therapists use a range of psychological techniques and tools to influence your mental and emotional state. Psychotherapy includes systematic, regular sessions and a contract between a therapist and a client. The relationship between you and the therapist supports the release of feelings, fantasies and thoughts, which help building your self-consciousness. Psychotherapy helps you work on permanent changes to your behaviour. It helps you to gain control over your life. You can make better decisions in all the aspects of your life and therefore gain satisfaction from it.
How to start?
It is important to choose the right therapist for you. You can have an initial phone consultation with a therapist and book your first session. On your first session you will discuss your problems and issues. Therapy is most successful when you commit to regular weekly sessions. The power of therapy lies in your trusting relationship between you and your therapist.
When to seek therapy?
It is a good time to start therapy when you find that you are feeling overwhelmed by the hardships of your life and you are not able to deal with them on your own. Your own solutions to these problems stop working or become another contributing factor to the problem.
I provide a humanistic approach to therapy called Transactional Analysis. It is a systematic approach for change and growth.
My work always focuses on your needs. I tailor every session individually to meet your current needs and the goals that you set for yourself. Through therapy you can deepen the understanding of your struggles. I can help you make sense of your unconscious life decisions that could be standing in the way of your happiness and fulfilment.
I have received a thorough counselling and psychotherapy training:
*Bsc (Hon) Psychology at the Open University
*Advanced training in Psychotherapy, The Berne Institute, England
*Diploma in Humanistic Transactional Analysis Counselling
*Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis - Middlesex University, England
*Transactional Analysis 101, UKATA, England
*Level 3 Diploma in Counselling, Peter Symonds College, England
*Level 2 Counselling, East Surrey College, England
*Redecision Therapy Training, The Berne Institute, England
*Parent Infant Mental Health Certificate, NHS, England
I currently work as a therapist in my private practice. I also provide counselling at the voluntary organisation. I am currently in a further advanced psychotherapy clinical training to deepen my knowledge of Transactional Analysis. I believe it is vital for every therapist to engage in continues training and self-development therefor I receive regular supervision as well as take part in national and international psychotherapy workshops and conferences.
