My name is Ian Griffiths, and I’ve been teaching guitar for 28 years in schools and colleges teaching both adults and children.
I started playing guitar when I was 14. After leaving school, I studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales and then at Goldsmiths College in London.

What do you love most about your job?
Being involved in music is not like a job it's more like full-filling your life's purpose. There is so much variety in being a professional musician that I would recommend it to anyone. And I'd challenge anyone to find a more full-filling form of work. There's the creative side: songwriting and composition, there's the teaching side; helping others to become professionals in their own right. There's being part of a community of music lovers. And also the performance side, it's so engaging that while performing in a concert, music takes on a spiritual dimension. And there's not many professions that can say that!
What inspired you to start your own business?
It was a natural development from having a full timetable of students. When you get good at what you do, the phone starts to ring. And then when you business if full, the phone keeps ringing.
So, naturally I couldn't keep turning away the inquiring students, I found teachers for them. Now we have a team of teachers working in West London.
