About

Hi there I'm Nikki, the Trainer at Four Happy Paws. I've been studying canine training and behaviour for several years, now holding certificates at levels 3, 4 and 5 - this is the same as if I have completed 2 years at university. I also have earned qualifications in canine first aid, care and welfare, nutrition and canine anxiety.

Dog Walking

Nikki was warm and friendly as always and our dog absolutely loves her. The training is coming along quickly and we’re very happy. Would recommend to anyone in need of help with their doggie More...

I was worried I didn't have enough free time to devote to training, so Nikki suggested her "head start " program. I wasn't sure about someone else training my dog, I'd always been told the owner should do it - but I am so glad I took the chance! Nikki came round 3 times a week and did the training herself for an hour, than once a week would teach me commands, cues etc. Now I have the best trained dog around! No matter where we are or the distractions around she does what I say without hesitation, and the problems we had when visitors came over have completely disappeared. To anyone considering hiring Nikki - do it! You won't regret it. Thank you Four Paws! More...

I can't thank Nikki enough for working with me and my puppy! The biting has stopped, there's been no accidents in the house and her obedience is spot on! It's the level of knowledge that sets Nikki apart, explaining why I should do things a certain way helped me remain consistent. And the workbook provided is a world apart! So helpful and full of brilliant information. I'll definitely be back, I'll never use another trainer again More...

Behaviour sessions available either in person or remotely.
I have experience working with aggression, fear, stress and anxiety (including separation anxiety), resource guarding, Barking, destructive behaviour and dog - dog issues.

Sessions where puppies under 6 months learn and improve their social skills through play. This age is a critical period in their lives, if not socialised at this phase it becomes much harder to do. It's also a chance for owners to have a coffee together, make new friends and share tips and advice

Don't have the time to devote to training your dog? Want to do what's best for them but don't have the patience for it? Then this program is for you! Research is showing more and more that training yourself is not necessary. What's more important is frequency, method and consistency. So for 1 hour 3 times a week I will come to your house and train your dog for you. Then once a week do a "skill transfer" where I show you how to get the dog to do the same things for you. This method is becoming more and more common, and trust me - it works!

Repeated ear infections? Itchy skin? Swollen gland and bum scooting? Many of these issues are triggered by one simple thing - the food they eat. Certified in canine nutrition, I can help you assess their diet, work through an exclusion diet and identify triggers, and make the changes needed for a happier and healthier dog
