I've really enjoyed working with Arlen, we initially hired him to do some portrait photography for a client in natural settings and have since also contracted Arlen to complete some product photography to demonstrate a company's range of products and fabrication techniques. He's a really nice guy, professional around the client and brings some really interested techniques and experience ot the table. Would thoroughly recommend. More...

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret of taking portraits of people is understanding how they think about themselves. Work out what it is they would like to see and try to get to know them in the short time you have to achieve something they are going to be happy with. Always try something different and try to show the natural side of your subject.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask if there are any examples of what they are looking for. Sometimes it's very hard to put into words and describe something visually that you both interpret in the same way. A bit like going to the hairdresser with a picture.
Also what are the images to be used for i.e. are they for a professional profile. In which case what is your profession and how does that profession typically portray itself?
What do you love most about your job?
I most love meeting new people. It's very rewarding to go from a first meeting, to putting them at ease to where they're actually enjoying having their photograph being taken.
No day is ever the same and everyone has their little quirks and nuances which keep the job interesting and fun.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business after being an amateur for a few years and realising what a joy and privellige it was to be allowed to take pictures of people. There is a real joy in being able to provide great photos for people that enhance and improve either their professional or personal life, so why not make a business out of it!?
Why should our clients choose you?
One of the most common comments I am greeted with after a shoot it is, "I hate having my photo taken but you made me feel so relaxed and I really enjoyed it".
